Which resorts have the best Christmas decorations?

My family and I are heading to central Florida (The Villages) to visit my mother-in-law over Thanksgiving. We are going to drive to Disney for a day and walk around Disney Springs and possibly visit a few resorts to check out the decorations. We have only traveled to Disney in the summer, so this will be a totally new experience for us. Which resorts have the best decorations? I have heard about WL and GF being awesome, but are there any others?

Our favorite during the holidays is WL, followed by the GF, AKL, and BC/YC/BWI.

Thanks for the suggestion! Heading to WDW for the first time for Christmas and wanted to spend a day just touring the hotels and wanted to know which were the ones that were must sees.

It really depends on what you like. WL has the most of any of them so you really get a lot of bang for your buck

. GF has the full size gingerbread house and a beautiful tree that is huge.

YC (or could be BC) has a chocolate carousel in their lobby

, the other one has a cool little village set up. BW has displays of gingerbread houses

. AKL has a huge tree with great decorations

. Poly doesn't do a lot and we were hard put to find anything other than a huge tree out front on the lawn at CR. Dolphin has a great tree in the lobby and has a chocolate Santa scene

Most certainly The Grand Floridian! they have a life size Ginger Bread House you can actually WALK THROUGH! it's amazing!

The GF, WL and BC are all amazing... but I'm going to throw the Poly in there too. Hawaiian/tropical themed tree and decorations, a tree made entirely of live tropical plants and Hawaiian versions of popular Christmas songs are played for background music in the resort.

I think WL has beautiful decorations. Also, CSR and Gf.

IN OUR OPINION:
1) Best Lobby: Wilderness Lodge
2) Best Atmosphere: Grand Floridian Lobby with themes and live music
3) Best Overall Decorations: Fort Wilderness (due to the campers decorating their sites)

I agree. I was not expecting to enjoy those decorations so much, but they were just spectacular. I really liked that visit.

OP- Disney resorts are pretty darn nice during the holidays. WE alwys spend time exploring the Epcot resorts, especially the BC and YC lobbies, but if you want to spend the day Exploring teh MK resorts, I think you will be very happy. I love the Grand and can spend a hour in that lobby between the tree and the pretty decorations throughout, and the music in the afternoon. Just lovely! Then a trip through teh Poly and the Contemporary, and then off to WL. Stunning!!! From there, if you plan it right you could head over to FW and take a wagon ride that evening through the campground. The campers are really into decorating their campsites. SO much fun!

It's been awhile since I've been during the Christmas Holiday but my faves, in no order: Beach Club (love the chocolate carousel), Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian.

Agree with the majority of the PP's that Wilderness Lodge (check out the adjacent DVC building as well) is spectacular. So is the GF. Then make the rounds of Boardwalk, BC, YC for some interesting details.
