Can't seem to find the info when I did a search, but can anyone tell me which resorts have the Grand Villas? I know OKW has them, but which others?

Thanks so much!

Boardwalk and SSR have GV's. Don't recall how many are at BWV, each building at SSR will have two in them.

Merry Christmas..

Old Key West, Boardwalk, SSR, Hilton Head, and Vero Beach have grand villas (or something equivalent in the case of VB).

It's easier to just tell you that all do EXCEPT BCV and VWL. BWV has 7 ( I think), OKW has 27 and SSR will have 2 in each building. Not sure how many at HHI and Vero.

At VB, there are four beach cottages (equivalent to GVs, 3 bedrooms, sleep up to 12).

Thanks for the info! Does anyone know the location of the GVs at OKW?

SSR will have 36 GV's when completed. OKW has 27 GV's, BWV has 7, VB has 6 (Beach Cottages) and HH has 5 GV's.

Here is a building summary for OKW with a list of the configuration for each building. GV's are found in Buildings 15,16,19,22,25,29,43,48,51,53 and 63.

Enjoy!

We just decided to add 2 more people to our summer vacation... bringing our total from 6, up to 8 people. This pushes us over our "comfort level" for our existing 2BR unit.

The current 6 of us will be Mom&Dad in master, 3 female kids (avg age 20) in the 2nd BR, and our 19 yo son will be on the sleep sofa. Even though the 2BR theoretically sleeps 8 people... it will not work for us when we invite another adult couple (DW's brother/S-I-L).

My first reaction was "great opportunity to use a GV!!!". However, in looking at the point charts today... it is about twice as many points to get a GV than to add a studio and pay for two units (2BR and studio). For now, I think I am going to go with the later.... even though it would be wonderful to have the GV from a space standpoint.

The GV penalty is not as severe on weekends... but we are going for 12 nights... and only have the middle weekend booked. We prefer to not swich units too often (preferably not at all).

We've had them at Boardwalk and Saratoga. None at Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club. Hilton Head and Vero Beach also have them but we've never stayed there yet!!! Vero in 2 weeks!!!!

If you have someone traveling with you that has a difficult time with stairs and uses a wheel chair quite a bit, what type of GV should one request at OKW.

thanks,

Pam

OKW has only two buildings with GV's accessible by wheelchair. Building 48 has a ground level GV and Building 63 has two GV's with elevator access to the first floor. The second and third BR's are still accessed by stairs in all OKW GV's.

SSR has elevator access to all GV's and all of those GV's also have exterior access to the BR's on the second floor of the villa.

BWV has elevator access to the first floor of all GV's and also has some (one?) GV all on one level.

HH has no accessible GV's- all have 2 flights of stairs to get to the first floor.

VB has no accessible Beach Cottages. The first floor is accessed by some steps (and the BR's are on the first floor). The kitchen and living area is on the second floor. There is one 3BR (not a GV) with elevator access- it is comprised of a 1BR villa with a lock-of studio on each side. One of the studios accesses the 1BR thru the master BR.

If you have someone unable to negotiate steps, be sure to indicate that as a medical request when making the reservation.

Five of the Seven GV's at BWV are one level with no stairs to deal with. At least one of these five is a Handicap accessible room where the Kitchen, master and one other bedroom are HC setups. Two GV's at BWV are two-story Units where only the first floors would be accessible without using stairs.
