we are taking our 5-yr. old for his first trip to WDW in Dec. Hubby and I would like one night out to celebrate anniversary. We are staying at GF. Should we use their childcare or is another better (like Poly)?

We've only used two of the child care centers, and my DD princess: loves them!!! She actually asks about going!!

She has stayed at Simba's Clubhouse at AKL, while we had dinner at Bomas. DH and I had a nice, relaxed meal, and she had a great time coloring with markers (her fave!), playing with some of the other kids, and she got to pick what she wanted for dinner - chicken tenders & fries, with chocolate milk!
(She's stayed here twice - had a great time both times!!)

She has also stayed at Cub's Den at WL. Again, she said she had so much fun! Got to pick what she wanted for dinner, and colored some pictures (which was hanging on the wall!). They also played some games with the kids.

She was only there about 1.5 hrs each time, but DD really enjoyed it!!!

I would choose the one closest to where you want to have dinner. Less hours to pay for and you are close by in case you are needed.

it's funny this topic came up. we are planning a trip in november that the kids are not going to know about UNTIL NOVEMBER! but all of the disney 50th ads have been bringing back memories to them. one of their strongest memories was the childrens program at the poly-they liked that when you were signed in you stepped up into wendy's window sill and then "jumped into neverland", 3 years later and my son still remembers putting on "peter pan stuff" and battleing tickity tock. i know it will be a must do for our next trip (now we truly enjoyed that night as well, we splurged and went to victoria and alberts for a truly romantic evening).

find out what each of the offerings are (make sure to note that some are only offered to guests that stay in that particular resort) and tune in on the theme and offering that will most engage your child (you can call the resorts directly and they will transfer you to the kids clubs where you can find out the themes and activites-it's well worth a few toll calls).

have fun!

Thanks for the advice! We are very excited about this trip, tho we have not told our son yet...just in case something comes up. Anyway, thanks for your help!!! :earboy2:

We just returned from our trip; we stayed at the Poly. We had a PS at the Marrakesh one night, and knowing that my DD (who is 5) would not enjoy that, I made a reservation for her at The Neverland Club (Poly's child care center).

She loved 'jumping through the window' and when we picked her up later, she couldn't stop talking about all of the fun she had.

The next night (this past Friday), we had a PS for dinner at Boma's. My daughter begged and begged to go back to the Club, so we called and we were lucky that they had an opening. She loved it again! She said the 'teachers' were so nice and friendly.

(P.S. I wasn't sure if she would initially 'like' going, so I had told her that she was going to Peter Pan's club that night, and it was for KIDS only - no parents allowed! She thought that was pretty 'cool' - to have her own club that we couldn't go to! It gave her something to look forward to!)
