I'm planning a trip far in the future (Nov 2006) to wdw. It'll be my b/f and me's very first time at wdw, as well as the farthest we've ever been away from home alone. I'd really like to stay at a disney hotel and want opinions on which one to pick. Money is no option, i'd really like to splurge and stay at a really nice hotel. If you have any other hotels that are offsite but are close enough to bus and are great, i'd love to about those as well. ^^ As well as we'll be going carless, so i'm hoping to rely on shuttles, buses and public transportation. As well as if possible would anyone know what would be a decent amount of time to stay there to be able to fully enjoy everything, like shopping, and other attractions? i'm thinking around 1-2 weeks. ^^

This is my first and probably not my last post here, as i have absolutlely no idea what to do yet. ^^ Thanks for your time.

A few notes, but November 2006 is definitely "in the future" but not the "far future." Everything seems to need longer lead-times at WDW. Personally, I'd make hotel reservations for WDW in November 2006 before the end of this year.

My recommendations are very short and sweet. If money is no object, then I recommend a Garden Suite at the BoardWalk Inn. It's a wonderfully private and exclusive accommodation. The BoardWalk is very active at night, and of course, you've got a 5-10 walk into Epcot and a 20 minutes walk into Disney-MGM Studios. You cannot beat it.

Wellcome to the DIS!! Our favorite is resort is POR. We've stayed at most of the resorts and keep coming back to it.

If you plan to spend most of your time at Epcot, you might want to consider either the Boardwalk as already suggested or the Yaht and Beach Club. It's a short walk to World Showcase at Epcot from either of these.

my personal 2 favourites are The Board Walk Villas and Old Key West :flower:

Welcome. If money is no object and you want to stay nicely, I would go for a deluxe, and probably in the Epcot area. Currently, Disney is offereing Magical Express, which is included free in your stay and will take you too and from the airport. If this changes, you can get a town car or take mears.

Here is a quick breakdown of the hotel categories:

Value: These are the cheapest, usually under 100 dollars per night. THey rely soley on bus transportation. Rooms are small 240 square feet. The newest one is POP century. They only have a food court. The hotels are Pop Century, All star Movies, Sports and Music.

Moderate: There are 4 resorts in this category with one of them being a shared resort. Prices range from 134-200 per night. They have sit down resteraunt, they rely on buses to transport to the parks. You also have more ammenties such as a pool with water slide and other activities, like renting water mice etc. These are Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter(which are sister resorts) Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. Rooms are around 300 sq feet. These also come standard with a fridge.

Deluxe: These have the most ammenties. The hotel has interior corridors. Many resteraunt options, no food court though. They have lots of activities from renting water mice, to spa treatments. Transportation options vary here too. Some are on the monorail, some you can take a boat to a resort, some you can take a bus, some you can walk to. THe are the most expensive but they offer a lot of services too. Rooms are larger and they come with a fridge as well. Prices start at 199 per night. There are 3 basic areas:
Magic Kingdom: These include Wilderness Lodge(cheaper), Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian: Cont, Poly and GF are all on the monorail.
EPCOT- Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Swan and Dolphin
Animal Kingdom Area- Animal Kingdom Lodge(cheaper)

Check out www.allearsnet.com for a run down and slide show of each hotel.

I would also recommend Boardwalk because of the night life, great location, and overall excelent theming. No matter which hotel you choose, im sure you won't be disappointed!!

Thank you all very much for your input. ^^;; I'm thinking of the boardwalk now. It sounds very nice. ^^;; Hopefully i'll be able to get a room asap. Ahh now to figure out dates, dining and activities. ^^
