Which resort

We are trying to decide between animal kingdom lodge and Saratoga springs. We have teenage kids. Which is better?

I would stay in a 2 bedroom unit at Kidani. You’d get 3 full baths in that unit. If that sounds like too much, the 1 bedroom unit has 2 full baths. The teens would sleep on the sofa bed and sleeper chair in a 1 bedroom. A savanna view isn’t necessary, but if that’s something important to you then be sure to book that category.

Saratoga is convenient for access to Disney Springs, but other than that there is no real advantage to staying there. If you will spend a lot of time at DS then maybe that is the place for you.

What size unit are you looking at? How many teenagers? Which theme do you like better.
I would thing that SSR and its proximity to DS would be better for you

We have two teenagers 17, 16. We are just looking at a studio because of our budget. We are staying offsite for the rest of the week so we’re trying to squeeze in a Disney resort. We are going with some friends and they have never stayed on Disney.

We stayed at AKL for the 1st time last June and the girls (9 and 18 at the time) loved the place. Watching a baby giraffe play tag with its mother in the rain made the whole trip worth it. The downside? The girls have decided they can never go back to being moderate girls. As the oldest said we have been bitten by the deluxe bug.

Since it sounds like a short stay, I might go with AKL. Feels more "Disney" to me, and has a great pool and better dining options. Its not the most convenient in terms of park commute times, but neither is SSR. The main benefit of SSR's location is the ability to walk to Disney Springs.

I'll also warn that a studio is tight with 4 people. You'll have a queen bed and full size sleeper sofa bed that pulls out, which makes walking space in the room pretty cramped.

My other option is to stay at Buena vista suites....but that is offsite and I’ve never stayed there.

I'm not familiar with offsite resorts, but if time is of the essence, on-site will be better for making the best use of your time.

AKL is IMO one of the best themed resorts. SSR is convenient for DS, but is very spread out. Every time we have brought family with us to AKL they have been amazed at the theming. Have a fantastic vacation!

Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's a gorgeous resort and has a lot to offer. It also doesn't feel so much like Disney (in a good way), which may be good for teens. It's also pretty compact compared to SSR.
