Which resort?

My mom, 3 boys (14,8, and 5 when we go)and I are starting to plan for our next WDW trip next August. I can get a package deal for 2 rooms at Pop, 2 at CSR, 1 at Poly or 1 at BC, for all within $600 of each other (cheapest being Pop, most expensive being Poly).

I've always wanted to stay at Poly, though I visited this past summer during our trip and was underwhelmed. Still, I'd like to give it a try. BC appeals to me because of the proximity to Epcot and HS. We are getting the water park and more option on our tickets because we loved BB last year, so the pool is not a huge factor.

Now, for the reasons I'm even considering two rooms at Pop or CSR. I love my mom dearly, but she snores....very loudly. So much so that this past summer (we stayed with her in one room at POR) my kids and I barely got any sleep for 9 nights. We all had earplugs and my oldest son and I played the sound of rain on our phones to try to drown it out, but it didn't work. She was louder. However, we still had a great trip.

I am wanting to put my deposit down so I can start paying on our trip, but I don't know what to do. I would much rather stay deluxe, but at the expense of us getting a decent night's sleep for the entire trip? I don't know.

I should add, I've stayed at Pop before (2010) and it is my least favorite of the resorts where I've stayed. I've also never really been interested in CSR.

For me, a good night's sleep would trump all other considerations. Try CSR. There are plenty of people who love to stay there.

Snorer here. I know I sleep better when I have my own space. Otherwise I'm trying to change positions, sleep on my side, etc, in an (often futile) effort to quiet the snoring for my roommates benefit. Our trip next May, it's two rooms for us, especially since the other benefit is two bathrooms, which alone is a good enough reason for booking two rooms.

As the wife of a snorer, I'm voting for two rooms at CSR. Yes, I definitely prefer deluxe resorts, but we have taken trips where we've only had one sleeping space and I was miserable and exhausted the whole time. Not fun. Particularly for a vacation where you will be touring a lot. We are a family of 3 and typically now book 1-bedroom villas at DVC resorts so, if my husband starts snoring, I can at least sleep on the pull-out with my DS. I think there are a few 1-bedrooms that sleep 5 that may price out around the same as BC or Poly. Have you looked into those? That would at least give you two sleeping spaces on a more deluxe level of resort. Ft. W cabins would fit the bill as well.

OT, but consider have your mom get a sleep study. I also snored loudly. Had the study and now use a CPAP. It is very quiet and my wife says I do not snore now. This may enable you to stay at a Deluxe.

Are you looking at a regular room at the Deluxes, or a 1 bedroom (bedroom and living room). If you are thinking just a standard room, I would def do Coronado. My days of cramming 5-10 people in a single hotel room for hockey trips are long gone, and I want my space (especially when getting up in the morning and getting rady). We stayed at CST last time. I was really apprehensive about it with how big it is, but we loved the place. The busses took a lot less time to get to the parks than I anticipated, food court was great, and we really weren't too far away from anything at the resort.

Two rooms. I would go with Coronado, for its excellent water slide and pool area. At Pop, you sacrifice in-room coffee and a water slide.

I'm also voting for two rooms at CSR so you could have more space to move and relax, since you've been thru a tiring day.

Thanks! It looks like the consensus is definitely 2 rooms at CSR. Now, if you could sell me on the fact that it's not a corporate, non-Disney bubble-feeling resort, I'd appreciate that!

Haven't looked at one bedrooms because they aren't part of the offer I'm booking.

As far as a sleep study...I've tried for years to get her to have one done.

When I stayed at CSR I actually went with my mother who was there for a convention. Therefore, a lot of my time was spent alone at the resort. I loved it! It was during the summer so I spent a lot of time at the pools or reading in the hammocks around the property. We were in one of the buildings furthest from the lobby area (Ranchos) and it was definitely a 7-10 minute walk to the lobby. I enjoyed it because the grounds are so nice. If I hadn't known about the convention because of my mom I wouldn't have known they were there. We added a day after the convention and decided to go to MGM. (I know Hollywood Studios but will always be MGM to me!) The bus service was a lot better than what I experienced at All Star Movies which is all I have to compare it to. Very quick pickup both to and from the park and not at all crowded. The kids will LOVE the feature pool at CSR. With three boys I think it'd be great to have plenty of room to spread out. The Pepper Market was great for lunch (I ate there a lot since my mom was in meetings).. We ate dinner at Maya Grill one night and it was amazing!

We're staying at AoA for our upcoming trip because my daughter absolutely loves the Little Mermaid, so we're staying in the Little Mermaid rooms. And I want to try all of the resorts eventually. As far as quality and theme though I feel like CSR is up there with the deluxes.

CSR, no brainer!

It's our favorite mod due to theme, decor, pool, bus service, and amenities/extra dining options. Can't wait to return next summer!
