We have been to OKW and we loved it and plan on staying there again on our next trip. I was thinking about possibly staying at another resort. I have young kids; which one would you all recommend for family fun with the kids and one that has a water slide in the pool. I know they all are great for kids and that they all have the slides, but I just thought i'd get some opinions from other Disers who have stayed at them. I am looking toward VWL or BCV or SSR because they seem close to the MK and they look good and fun.

Thanks in advanced! :flower3:

BCV and SSR are not close to the MK. If you're looking for something that is you'll want to go with VWL or BLT.

We joined DVC 10 years ago when our kids were young. We've stayed in all of the DVC resorts except BLT, which will be trying on our next trip. Honestly, I'd say just pick the one that sounds the best to you. Everyone will have a different opinion on what the "best" is, but it's all subjective. All of the properties have pluses and minuses but they are all great.

Some positives for each...
AKV has the bonus of the animals right outside your window, which your kids would probably enjoy.
BLT is the newest property and is within walking distance to the MK.
If your kids are old enough to enjoy Stormalong Bay, BCV is very nice and it is within walking distance of EPCOT.
BWV has easy access to EPCOT and DHS and offers a fun atmosphere in the evenings.
You mention you loved OKW (as do we) so you might prefer staying there again for the larger size of their villas.
SSR is beautiful and close to DtD.
If you like the rustic them of the VWL (the lobby is amazing!) then go with that.

Good luck with your choice. You really can't go wrong with any of them!

My kids are young too, and I have to say in our trips so far VWL and BCV were the best 2 for our kids so far. At VWL we loved the proximity and ease of getting to MK (our trip there wasn't that warm so I can't comment on the pool). But when we were at BCV we loved ending our day at Epcot, grabbing a drink at world showcase and watching the fireworks and walking back to our room at BCV. (Both kids would pass out in the double stroller so it was really easy). I also like at SAB they have a smaller water slide on the back side of the pirate ship. My DD wasn't feeling brave enough to tackle the big slide, but the small one was just her speed! The sand in the kiddie pool also kept my DS busy for a long time! Like the another poster mentioned, you can't really go wrong with any resort and if your kids are small enough, just having a pool to swim in is good enough for them! :rotfl:

I have to agree that VWL is very convenient with little ones, especially if staying on the ground floor. Plus you don't have to collapse the stroller on the larger boat to MK. Just zip around everywhere. It drove me crazy at BWV that we had to constantly get on the elevator because of all the stairs. BCV is good too, but no bus to front of Epcot.
I really love AKV for the activities and theming, and of course the animals. It's far from most parks though, if that bothers you.
And of course the rooms at OKW are huge. We are staying there next with a 3 yo and 1yo.
good luck in your decision!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I believe we are going to plan to stay at either BCV or VWL. I believe I may end up deciding on BCV. The SAB sounds really fun for the kids. Our next trip, DS1 will be 7 and DS2 will be 2 and a half which he can enjoy the kiddie pool. The fireworks sounds great walking while heading back to her our room. I know they all are great and I plan to stay at different ones over the next years to come. Thanks again for all your feedback.:)

There's also a wonderful zero-entry beach area for little kids, with lots of guided games during the day. It really is a terrific pool experience!

Great to know, Thanks Tara.
