So we are trying to pick between the following:

Silver Lake
Wyndham Cypress Palms
Cypress Pointe Grande Villas
Legacy Vacation Club

We are a family of 5; kids ages 3,5,8. I have narrowed it down to these four based on location first. I know Silver Lake is probably the closest and I like that but I have also heard some mixed reviews. We don't plan on having a huge amount of down time at the condo, maybe the first day we arrive and an afternoon here or there. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'd take Grande Villas Resort (new name for the Cypress Pointe Grande Villas), as long as you stay in a recently refurbished villa. Silver Lake and Grande Villas are about the same distances/drive times from most of the Disney theme parks (SL is about five miles or so closer to Animal Kingdom than Grande Villas is). But with the addition of the Target shopping center, and several restaurants, just down SR 192 from Silver Lake, both resorts are situated in areas with a lot to offer. The big draw for Grande Villas is its proximity to Downtown Disney as well as the other two major Orlando theme parks, SeaWorld and Universal/Islands of Adventure and Outlet shopping.

Sounds like you're choosing from a similar list that I am :) They're on the government employee's website.

Yup, that is where we are booking from. Such an amazing deal. We weren't even thinking about doing Disney again this year until I came across this option and the Disney Y.E.S Program for discounted park tickets. $1305 for a week long 2bd condo and 7 day park tickets for 2 adults and 3 kids is just incredible!

We ended up going with Silver Lake Resort. It is close to the parks and there was a 2bd/2ba available during the time we were looking to go. We would have liked to do the Grande Villas as Dick suggested but they only had a 1bd and the space at Silver Lake out weighed the amenities that The Grande Villas had to offer.

When are you looking at going?

We're going in August. I'm still way up in the air about where!

We got YES tickets, too :-)

I'd *like* to go to WBC, but the price difference is huge. I'm having a hard time walking away from $369/week.

I do need 9 days, so maybe I'll stay a week at one of these then 2 days at WBC or or or

Seriously I haven't been this undecided in ages.
