We had the most fantastic holiday to Orlando this Easter and not surprisingly we want to return, hopefully next year (probably August so we can go for longer, even though it is hotter).

We are certain we want to book a townhouse in Windsor Hills for the majority of our stay, but we would like to experience a Disney Hotel for two or three nights. Any longer being cooped up in one room would drive us mad! Kids will be 10 and 8 by then.

As it will only be for 2 or 3 nights we want to make it special. Which of the Deluxe hotels would you recommend? Also, do you think it would be better at the beginning or end of our stay? Is GF really worth every penny? Any room types you would recommend?

Thanks

We love the Wilderness Lodge!!! The themeing is fab and it is a short boat ride away from magic kingdom.

Hi,

Firstly I have very little experience of Disney resorts, private villa's have been our choice for a long time now....
However, on our last holiday we stayed at Disney's Boardwalk for a few nights and next Easter are booked into the Polynesian, both
at the beginning of the holiday.

Personally I would look at one that suits your children better, there is lots of info on the resorts board on the DIS, plus plenty of photos and detailed information on http://www.wdwinfo.com/ and http://www.allearsnet.com/ which may be of help to you.

Whilst with it's close proximity to the Poly I am looking forward to a look around the Grand Floridian I think there are better resorts for kid's.
Just my opinion, bearing in mind I have never stayed there, but we did a lot of research on the resort. It looks fabulous but just not sure it is for children.

Again based solely on my research the Polynesian looks great for everyone, has nice pools, a beach, good shopping/dining and an excellent location.
Other than that I would consider a DVC resort that could possibly offer more room as they do villa (apartment) type accomodation.

I would do the resort first before the Townhouse, on a similar line to our Poly/Terre Verde Easter 2009 holiday, mainly because I feel you may not want to fully unpack until you arrive at the villa.

We have stayed at WL & my DD loved going to MK on the boat. It is a really lovely looking resort - have looked round the others but it will be a hard choice. I suppose it may come down to wether you want to be on the monorail line or not?

Most kids love animals so if that is true for you Animal Kingdom Lodge would be a good choice. Some reports suggest that this resort is remote but when we stayed we used the bus servie and it was great.

Equally Wilderness is also great and our DD (9) loved both. Being close to MK is good and the baot ride makes a very nice change. Also with WL there is easy access to Contempory (Chef Mickeys and Californian Grill) and Poly (Ohana). Also you get to use the monorail and donlt forget to ask the guard if you can ride up front!

Three out of our four rides were up front with the driver whcih was cool :cool1:
