Hi everyone! We just recently took in our 6yr. old niece and 8yr. old nephew. We usually go to Disney once a year with our 2 kids(5 and almost 2). The kids all keep asking when we can all go together. We would like to go this summer. We stayed at CBR in August and loved it but with 4 kids may have to try the Pop or All-Stars. Would we need two rooms? Never stayed in a value.:( Any opinions would be appreciated!:) Thanks!

Yes by the fire code guidlines you'd have to get two rooms (or a cabin). I've heard that two rooms at a value are cheaper than the cabins (at Fort Wilderness). Since you will have children they will guarentee connecting rooms with a door between them.

Since your little one is still 2, if you go before her 3rd birthday, she won't "count" in your count. Thus, you could get 1 deluxe room that sleeps 5 or the 1 moderate (Port Orleans, I believe) that sleeps 5.

WL has deluxe rooms with a small kitchenette that sleep 6.

We have 5 children and stay at the Ft. W cabins. We love them.

They are a good size, with bedroom - full bed and bunkbeds so the children can all sleep in that room and parents can sleep on murphy bed in living room.

One of the best parts of the cabin is the kitchen. Through a waffle in the toaster for a quick breakfast while mommy is in the shower. In the evenings, a quick snack & milk before bed.

Ft. W also has the campfire sing-along program with movies nightly - a fun thing to do on an evening away from the parks. Oh and laundry facilities too.

We stayed at POP with connecting rooms and it was okay, but hard to get along without a kitchen and it felt really cramped.

Thanks for all your info. I'll check out prices for FW cabins. That sounds fun. Connecting rooms at Pop seem o.k. but again, after staying in moderates, I don't know if we would truly enjoy Pop. Campfires and movies seem much more fun!:)

One more suggestion...Coronado springs has a junior suite that sleeps six...with 2 bathrooms!!

That soundsnice. Does it have a kitchen? It would save us quite a bit of money making breakfast and dinner in the room. I looked up the pictures of the cabins and they do seem nice too. I'll try to look up pics of CSR junior suite. Thanks!:)

We have 4 kids and are DVC members. We usually stay at one of the DVC resorts. Its so nice having a full kitchen and seperate rooms. However we dont stay at the DVC resorts over the weekends because it just eats up to many points. Our youngest is just 2 so we can still stay in 1 deluxe room at the Poly, CR, YC/BC. They have rooms with 2 queen beds and 1 day bed. It worls out fine for us. The one bathroom is not really a problem and we are usually all together at home and really in our room only to sleep. The teens head out to DQ at night when we are getting the 2 little ones to sleep.
You can also stay at POR with a trundle bed room if you dont want to stay at a deluxe.

You buy points from the Disney Vacation Club or you can buy a resale--which is a better deal.
You can just rent points from members which you might want to try before buying into DVC. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=29

Once you stay in one of the villa's you will be in love. OKW rooms are HUGE and beautiful. BWV and BCV have a great location and VWL are in such a beautiful spot and just a boat ride to the MK.

Just got back, rented points from a DVC'er & stayed at a 2 bed villa at WL. I think we could do a one bedroom next time (we only have 2 kids but don't want to have to sleep with them! );)
I have not done the cost calculations, but we ate EVERY breakfast & lunch in our room (except PSB) so I figure we saved A LOT. We bought groceries which did not cost us much. We also had a w/d & did a couple loads of laundry while we were there! Yes, it was $300/night Sun - Thurs but we saved a lot in food costs & beverage costs (brought a cooler with water in to the parks every day). It was so nice having a lot of room too! I am not sure when our next trip will be, but if we were going to do Disney every other or evern every 3 yrs I would consider DVC!!

i'll be the odd-woman-out here...

we stayed at pop in aug/sept and LOVED it! my kids never want to stay anywhere else! we had two connected rooms and it was plenty roomy for 9 days... the upside for us was the two tvs and the two bathrooms! i know pop is a value resort, but maybe because it's new, it was almost like a "moderate lite!" we loved the pools and the food court too... our previous stay was at a mod (cbr) and by the end of nine days that trip we were reallllly on top of one another, no place to put stuff... it was cramped... esp if you will have a pack 'n play, you'll be tight! i would definitely consider two rooms connected at pop century!

Before joining DVC we always stayed in the FW cabins with our 3 DD's. We love them. Having the kitchen is great, it saves both time & money.

I think the only downside to the cabin & upside to having 2 rooms at a Value is the fact you can have 2 bathrooms at the Values.
