I am a teacher and was thrilled to receive a FD PIN for June and July. We will spend most of our time at the resort- we have been to WDW several times and are looking for a relaxing time and good food- we will be upgrading to the Deluxe DP. I know that July is less expensive for the deluxes and mods are the same rate both June and July. So here are our options

(5 nights, 4 day base tix, dxdp- 3 adults)
July
AKL -pool view- 2756.59
WL- woods view- 2869.09
Poly- garden view- 3431.59

June or July
CSR- std view- 2470.49

Which would you choose and why?

Have you thought about the Beach Club? The pool there is AMAZING! And it is close to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and lots of fun things to do at the Boardwalk. We stayed there for the first time last year and can't imagine staying anywhere else now! Good luck with your decision!!

Beach Club was our first choice but they only have water view rooms available with the PIN on the dates we can go. That puts it way over our budget.

Have you tried the Yacht Club? It shares the same pool as beach club and if you are planning to stay at the resort a lot it would be nice to have the pool and beach.

Of course, you could try Boardwalk too, you could still lounge on the beach and its close to things also.

Other than that, I like Animal Kingdom Lodge, the animals and things would be nice, and the theme there is so different.

Given the choices and you said you would spend a lot of time at the resort, I'd go with Animal kingdom. Looks beautiful, have the animals, great restaurants for your deluxe dining, and the pool looks nice. Remember, no hot tub at the Poly either.

Of those you listed, I would go Wilderness Lodge. You are in a Deluxe resort which is under one roof. If you take afternoons back at the room when the daily Floridian downpour happens, you will not need to get drenched if you need to leave your room to grab a bite to eat or do a little shopping.

You will also get a boat ride to Magic Kingdom, which is lovely and relaxing.

I am not a huge fan of the Poly. No hot tub for my husband, no playground for my youngest daughter, and no covered walkways so you can end up wet if you leave your room for a meal. The rooms are decorated in Brady Bunch chic dark brown and olive green. The rooms are also very dark. I never had enough light and dreamed of more lamps with stronger bulbs.

Before you think I just do not like the Polynesian theme I love Hawaii and will spend Thanksgiving there this year, but the Poly is, in my opinion, stuck in a sort of mid 70's rut.

As to Animal Kingdom Lodge, it is beautiful, but does not feel Deluxe to me. Any place you visit is a bus ride away and the resort is not very centrally located. It is beautiful, but not at the top of the list for us.

As to the Mods, you only listed CSR, which we do not like because it is so huge. If you end up in a far flung location, you can be a fifteen minute brisk walk to grab a bite to eat or buy an asprin. It is also a conference hotel, and we ran across a large group of rather lively conventioneers who were not in full Disney mode, but would have fit in well in Vegas.

If I were to stay Mod, I would stay POFQ. It is a much smaller resort and is much more laid back. It also has boat rides to Downtown Disney and their great food, shopping, and entertainment.

Since you are doing the Deluxe dining plan I would go with the WL. It is beautiful, has two sit down restuarants on property, plus you are a short boat ride away from the monorail resorts with all their restaurants. :thumbsup2 It gives you the most access to dining choices since that will be a big part of your vacation with the Deluxe plan.

I would choose AKL :goodvibes It is one of my families favorite deluxe resorts! If you are spending a lot of time at the resort you will love it there. It is so beautiful. Also since you will have the dining plan you can eat at the Boma anytime you want. Boma is a must for my family no matter where we are staying :thumbsup2 Good luck with your decision!

If you are doing the deluxe plan and you are more into relaxing then you are into touring the parks, I would try to stay in the boardwalk area.. There are so many yummy restaurants to choose from in that area.. if you feel like it, just a short walk to Epcot for great food too.. I would keep on calling.. People hold rooms all the time and then put down their deposit and then change their mind.. Other than that.. what about the Floridian? It is gorgeous, right on the monorail and has great restaurants right there..

My choice would be the Poly :). We love the tropical atmosphere and having the beach to relax in a hammock watching the fireworks :cloud9:. Also, having a dead on view of the castle while swimming is magical :wizard:. We love everything about the Poly.....it's our favorite resort :goodvibes.
