Which resort to stay?

We have 13 people, 7A, 5C (12,10,10,10,8) and an infant going to the World Sept 14-Sept 24 :dance3:. My DH two nephews and niece has never been to the world and my brother in law has not been there since the 70's. I am not sure where we should stay? I was thinking POP (since it is one of my favorites) but for a little bit more we can stay at a moderate; we are hoping for Free Dining :worship:. I was thinking of POFQ, since it is smaller and has a great slide for the kids and kids at heart . I spoke to a friend of mine and he rolled his eyes at this possibility :confused3. He mentioned CBR. I like the fact that POFQ has queens since my mom will be sharing a bed with my son.

What I am worried about is the buses at the moderates? We stayed at POR 11/10 and had problems with the buses. My DM has to ride a ECV (bad hip) and the buses never saw her since there was so many people hanging around and we almost always had to wait for the next bus :sad2:. We decided that if we ever stayed there again we would rent a car. I have read on these forums, that CBR is so big that you need a car to get around the resort or use the internal buses. The car is impossible, since we have so many people going. If we stayed at CBR I would definitely pay for preferred.

We stayed at CBR and didn't have a car. We requested a room close to a bus stop. We didn't have a long walk to a bus stop, but we did have a long walk to the dining. We didn't pay for preferred. We had no problems with the busses and loved the resort. It was beautiful, clean, quiet, friendly and we had no complaints. This time we're planning to stay at POR because our youngest is 3 now (family of 5), but I'm glad we got to stay at CBR.

I think it depends on what you prefer. I stayed at Pop last year and I was upset with the lines at night.....but I also went in August!:sad2: I am not sure what I was thinking. If you like Pop....stick with it. This year we are staying at ASMo.....but we normally like to stay at the Mod resorts. I have never had a bad experience with the bus system....I guess I have been lucky.;)

We love POFQ. There is only one bus stop and it is close to every building. The pool is smaller, but lovely and easy to keep track of everyone while in that area.
You can also use the pools over at POR and that is an easy trek.

The boat to DTD is also a big seller for us. Especially if you are planning on dining at other resorts. It's one of the faster ways to get there.

Sometimes you have to share a bus with POR, but not always. And even when you do, you are the first to be picked up and dropped off.

I second POFQ! The kids can always go swim at POR, too. But, it sounds like convenience is important and that is why we love POFQ. There is only one bus stop which is really nice. We love the boat shuttle to DTD, so much easier than taking a bus. I think the theming at POFQ is great and they have added Movie nights and bonfires, as well.

ETA: Also, it won't matter if your rooms aren't assigned next to one another (if that should happen) because everything at POFQ is close since it is half the size of the other 3 moderate (and all of the Value) resorts.

We have stayed at CBR the last 4 times and love it. We have never had a long wait for the buses and though the resort is large, it never took us more than about 5 minutes to walk to the food court. Our trip in May is the first time we decided to pay for a preferred room since it is our first summer trip with the kids.

I stayed in Caribbean Beach in December, it was huge, but it shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't think.

I like Pop Century as well, both are great resorts to stay in. Can't go wrong with either

We're headed to CBR in two weeks for our seventh stay there. It is a big resort, but that's one of the things I love about it. It never feels crowded to me, ever. I've never had any problems with the buses there. We do choose the Preferred room category so we are in easy walking distance of the main pool, spas, and food court, but it's not a bad walk from most of the non-Preferred areas either.

The only bad experience we've ever had there was having to leave at the end of our vacation. ;)

Thanks for the advice. We are hoping to book on Friday, since Southwest is releasing airfare for Sept on Jan 22. I think we will book at POFQ. Everyone in my party wants the queen size beds.
