Hi Everyone!

My brother and I will be going to Disney in Feb 2008 (only 195 more days but who is counting?!). We have narrowed our resort down to AKL (but hesitant about the construction), Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Old Key West and even though it's not a deluxe resort we added CSR to our list. We thought we would put a poll up and see what you guys thought! Thanks! :cool1:

A hey there to a fellow Canuck :woohoo:

While my fave and "home" resort is not on your list (POR), I voted for WL, just because it's considered a MK resort and it's the only resort on your list that also uses a ferry for transportation, which opens up alot of possibilities (i.e. boat to MK, then monorail to Epcot, etc.).

However, on the downside of WL from a Canadian point of view, depending which province you live in, you may feel like you're still in Canada :lmao:

But, seriously, think about POR. The food court has been recently refurbed (I was there right after it was finished). It also has a ferry, to DTD, which is great. It really does feel like you've been transported to "ol'south" and consider it my haven from the parks.

All the best!

Since CSR is the only mod on your list, I guess it depends on your budget. If money is no object, I would go with the Poly. If a mod is more in your budget, then I would definitely pick CSR!

Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

I voted for the Wilderness Lodge. We have never had the chance to stay there, but I love it and it is beautiful. Someday. (sigh) We stay at POR when we go. That is a nice resort too.

I voted for the Poly. As an earlier poster noted WL might feel too much like home, depending on where in Canada you are coming from
The Poly is a beautiful resort. The rooms are very large and were recently redone. It is a Monorail resort which is very convenient and you can walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail. It is very convenient.
I love the themeing, the CM's, the beach, the view, just about everything about it.
Have a great trip.

If money is no object - Polynesian.

If money is an object - Wilderness Lodge.

My personal favourite is AKL. The construction at AKL itself should be mainly over by February next year and you could always request a room far away from it. I think the relocation of many guests this summer showed that they are really making an effort to have guests not annoyed by the construction.

If you've got the money, I'd go for the Poly (which is what I voted for in the poll), but if you'd rather save some money, I'd head to CSR. Both are absolutely beautiful resorts. :thumbsup2

WOW thanks for all of your posts guys, they are all very helpful! I still have not decided though lol...such a hard decision! i think i'm going to rule out poly because it's too much $$$$ :( maybe one day!!

I think choice of resort depends on a number of things, not just theming: Which park will you spend most of your times at? Which other resorts are you planning to visit for meals and such? Are you going to have a car or using Disney transportation? Depending on all this, you should also take the location of your resort into account and if applicable the availability of transport. Have fun deciding, at least it gives you something to do! Having a trip fully planned but still months until it's time to leave is real torture!!! :goodvibes

Ok, I was just about to vote for the Polynesian, then read this! LOL So, I voted for AKL but ONLY if the construction is done. If it's not done at the time of your trip, then add one vote for the Wilderness Lodge. :sunny:

Have a great time, whever you stay!! :)

The Poly would be a great Winter getaway but next choice would be WL or akL - but I know what you mean about the construction there!

I voted Wilderness Lodge. It's breathtakingly beautiful. I recently stayed there. And even though I spent 10 years in Olympia, Washington, before moving back home to Virginia, I loved it! It reminded me so much of the Pacific Northwest. It's also nice to be able to take a short boat ride over to the Magic Kingdom or to a monorail hub.

If money is no object, I would vote Polynesian. I have never stayed there. But as soon as money is no object, I will. :rotfl:

(I definitely recommend you visit the Polynesian and eat at the Kona Cafe. For the last 5 years, it has been the best restaurant I have eaten at each and every trip. And every guest with me has felt the same way.)

I also love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you do not mind being a little removed from the theme parks, I actually like it even better than the Wilderness Lodge. It's amazing. It's a total sensory experience. The resort has the best smells, best sights, best sounds. And the restaurants are TO DIE FOR! They are so good! The rooms are amazing, too, and do not worry about paying for a room with a view. All you need to do is take a few steps out of any room and there will be a gorgeous leather sofa just waiting for you to curl up and spend an hour looking at the animals. Unbelievably wonderful. When I stayed there, I didn't even need a theme park to visit. I could have easily spent two weeks enjoying all of the offerings at the lodge and not gotten one bit bored.
