50ish, female solo traveler. I won't be spending a lot of time at the resort and pools don't really interest me. Which resort do you all like for ease at buses and walking back after dark? POP, POFQ or POR. Any advice is appreciated!

Pop-preferred rooms for transportation. I have found that value resorts have better transportation than moderates, so I stick to them for that reason. Have not had any issues walking back to room at any hotel on property after dark. There will be lots of other people around and the paths are well lit at POP. I noticed POR had some dark spots, but nowhere that felt unsafe...

50-something solo female traveler here. I have not stayed at POP or POR, but I've stayed the past 2 trips at POFQ and plan to return there next year.

POFQ is small, nothing is too far from the main building. I've had generally good luck with the buses. They do share sometimes with POR (mostly during the slower times of day), but when they do, POFQ picks up and drops off first. I have never been uncomfortable coming back in the evenings; I feel it is well lit and there are always other guests around. Also, the grounds are more park/garden-like so you don't feel like you're walking through the woods. ;)

I like buildings 2 and 5 (the two I've stayed in). In #5, I was overlooking the lawn where they show movies in the evening, and in #2, I was facing the pool area not far from the DTD boat dock.

All that said, I did flirt with POP for next year to save $, and plan to visit/walk around there next trip to see if I want to give that a try in the future.

I've stayed at all three of these. Your priorities are different than mine; I tend to focus more on the theming. With nearby buses and short walks being a main concern for you, you might do best at POFQ, with POP as second choice. POR is very spread out, and the walks tend to be long, unless you pay extra to get a preferred room near the lobby, or you could request a room near one of the other bus stops.

Since. Don't spend a lot of time at the resort I stay at pop. Have had no troubles. I did stay at POR and love it too, but was with friends to split the cost. Will be at pop this year again for food and wine.

If I was staying alone I would probably pick a deluxe but if I had to go for a moderate, I would pick POFQ... Small and very quiet.

It's funny the way people think differently! I always stay delux with my family, but I'm doing my very first solo trip in November and I picked POFQ for many of the reasons stated here.
OP - this trip is a 50th birthday present to me from my DH! I'll spend most of the time in the parks .... So I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I haven't been to POFQ before, but I researched pretty thoroughly and kept coming back to it.

I have stayed more than once in each of the three. I like POP best when the kids/grandkids are with me - more kid oriented. If you stay there get preferred room - 50's building is quieter than 60's. I would not choose POP by myself unless money was the deciding factor. I am staying in Nov in POR, but a bit concerned about walking alone in the dark there. But got a really good rate with D23 so going for it. It is huge! My favorite is POFQ. It has a really "grow-up" feel, and is really small and comfortable.

Thanks everyone for your help! I've decided on POFQ. Can't wait! Looking forward to some time to relax and unwind!

You're welcome! Based on your preferences and priorities, I think POFQ was your best choice! Have a great trip.

I stayed there in April of 2014 and loved it. Bus trans. was good and had the option of the boats to get to Downtown Disney. Liked the theme of the resort as well. Great choice in my opinion. I liked POR as well, and gonna try Pop at the end of Oct. My personal goal is to stay somewhere different every time to experience a little of everything.
