If you went to WDW and spent more time at your hotel (and less time in the parks) which resort has the most enjoyment/entertainment factor?? (ie, things to do, eat, see).

In my humble opinion, one of the best choices would be the WL. In addition to Whispering Canyon and Artist Point, there's a nicely-themed pool (2 actually), three hot tubs, an architecture tour guided by Ranger Stan, a lovely walking trail to Fort Wilderness, bike and boat rentals, and plenty of stuff for kids to do.

If you want to rent boats, the Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon resorts are your best choices because there's so much territory to explore. You don't get that at the Epcot resorts.

Another vote for WL, for the same reasons. It's as close to being a destination resort on its own as any resort at WDW. The fact that Ft. Wilderness is just a small distance a way, expands WL's prospects, while still providing you all the wonderful amenities of a compact deluxe resort.

I couldn't have said this any better than this. Another vote for WL.

JMHO, but I would choose any of the EPCOT resorts: YC, BC, or BWI. The Boardwalk is entertainment in and of itself. There are lots of great restaurants in the area as well. We also walked over to mini-golf one night. :)

The WL is a great choice, and we try and stay there a few nights on every trip, but if I were going to make non-park activities the focus of my trip I'd probably go with an Epcot resort, the best choice being BC in my opinion.

The WL is great for all the resaons listed. However, you can always visit the WL if you want to rent boats or do some of the other activites.

The BC is a great choice because the resort is wonderful, you have a nice character buffet, Beaches and Cream is great, the pool is best on property, plus you have access to all the wonderful restaurants and activities available at tht YC, the BW, and the Swan/Dolphin. In addition to this, the Epcot resorts have direct access to two parks, and walking to Epcot is a great feature. Now if you won't have ticket this is of no benefit. However, if you have a ticket that allows hopping, even if you don't intend to spend a lot of time in the parks it is great to be able to just walk over to Epcot to have a meal in one of the World Showcase restaurants, or see Illuminations, or just stroll around World Showcase in the evening for the atmosphere.

To be honest, I'd do what we seem to do on every trip now. I'd split the stay between the WL and the BC. You get two very different vacations in one, with access to different activities and facilities at each. Especially if you are going to spend most of your time at the resort, why do it all at one resort? Sure, if it is a short trip you wouldn't want to split the stay, but 3 or more nights in each would be wonderful.

WL and Poly!! OK... well those are the only 2 deluxes I have ever stayed at. I would also choose CSR and POFQ!!

Since we have been to Disney numerous times, we find ourselves spending more quality time at our resort. I do like to enjoy what the resorts have to offer.

I love sitting in the balcony and enjoy the atmosphere whether it be watching the monorail pass by and see all those beautiful exotic plants or watching the Gyser spit water up high in the air and watch the folks enjoying themselves at the "courtyard." I like watching boats pass by. I like watching fireworks and the electric water peagent passing by.

We enjoyed swimming at the Doubloon Lagoon and rent bikes from POR and take the boat back to POFQ. The children loves the Dig Site, they like playing there.

I've never stayed deluxe, so I vote for CSR. I stayed there in May during DH's convention and spent 3 days just at the resort with DS. The Pepper Market has so many choices I could eat there every day and not get bored. The pool area is great fun and there is a wonderful play area for the kids.
I also took long strolls around the lake and the resort (which is beautifully themed). There are hammocks around the lake to take a nice nap! Also there are boat rentals and surrey bikes (which I didn't do, but they looked like a lot of fun). Definitely a resort where I could never get bored! :sunny:

I would have to go with the CR ! We debated after researching several resorts which resort to just relax at after our wedding and honeymoon!!
The CR has so much to offer, the pools, pool bar, hot tubs, parasailing, mini speed boats, pontoon boats, restaurants, easy walk to MK or hop on the monorail, the balconies to watch the fireworks or EWP, room service, shopping, etc..There is just sooooo much to do there! Can't wait until Oct. 3!!!

I agree with all of these. Also, it is very easy to resort hop from the Contemporary to the GF or the Poly on the monorail and the WL and Fort Wilderness by boat to take advantage of those resort amenities as well. The only drawback is you don't have direct access to the Epcot resort area for all that those have to offer.

We love just hanging out at WL sitting in front of the fireplace, reading a good book! We also enjoy renting bikes and riding over to FW to the petting farm! Also they have boats to rent, a nice beach area, a great pool, and a great restaurant! :cheer2:

YC! Beautiful grounds, great pool, beach, quiet pool, lots of spas, a fitness center, beaches and cream, the board walk, etc,., etc.

But you've really made me want to try out WL! (I wish the rooms were more attractive. The pix on allearsnet don't look so great.)

Ahhh, most definately the YC/BC! You could have a wonderful vacation here and never even visit the parks. On our last trip in May I scheduled plenty of "down time" at the resort. We were there for seven days and only bought 4 days of hoppers. It was our best trip to Disney so far!
