Another thread got me thinking about the pools... Which resort do you think has the best pool? And of course we need to know why you think it's the best :)

Hands down favorite is Stormalong Bay at the Yacht/Beach Club/BCVs.

It's more than a pool, it's a sand bottom water park!
BUT the only way you can swim in it is to stay at those resorts. Trust me, they check your room key.

Another vote for the SAB pool mega-complex. We stayed at the beginning of June and this is definitely the best pool area we've had at WDW. We've stayed at all the moderates and at the WL, and visited the pools at the Poly and Boardwalk. None of them compares to the pools at YC/BC/BCV.

Guess we would vote for "The Dig" at CSR for second place.

SAB #1 for size and uniqueness - sand bottom, three different pools to visit, nice landscaping, a couple of food options right there at the pool. When we were there is was not overly crowded, but it was early in the season and that may not be the norm.

The Dig gets our vote for size and architecture. My two daughters really like the pool and the slide, and that was the place we would stay before joining the DVC.

Let's see what others say...

I agree!!! Stormalong bay by far... we have stayed at many disney resorts and my daughter (4) still raves about the "sandy pool". We are going back in 2 weeks and staying off-site for 5 days and at Beach Club for 3 just because of the pool!

SAB is the undisputed champion.

I'll place a vote for the pool at the Swan/Dolphin. We stayed at Beach Club one year and LOVED Stormalong Bay. But I'd have to say that something about the Swan's pool was more appealing to me. It seemed more peaceful, less "water-parkish" but had about the same size. a great twisty slide, a huge waterfall, and beautiful landscaping. (Our kids were 9 and 6 at the time.) Also, to go on the slide at Stormalong, you have to walk a longer way and go farther out of sight from your parents.

So, although you can't go wrong with either one, you might want to check out a website to see pix of both. Both resort areas are within walking distance to Epcot and MGM. You can't make a bad choice!

No votes for the cee-ment pond at the Contemporary? Sigh.

I've never been IN Stormalong Bay, but it sure looks like the best.

Stormalong Bay HANDS DOWN! Can't beat it, it will not be defeated!

P.S. Can you tell this is a subject near and dear to my heart.

I agree with most....SAB is #1...

I also love the view from the Poly's Volcano Pool!

I agree with Buckeye. I would prefer SAB if it were less crowded, and wasn't fenced in, and if it offered more convenient beverage service, but the Grotto Pool at the Swan and Dolphin is a three acre pool with a fun slide for the kids, beautiful waterfalls, several hot-tubs, childrens play areas, pool-side waitstaff, plus the quiet pools at the Swan and Dolphin are full sized lap pools. Also, the Swan and Dolphin pool seems to swallow the crowds better.

I would like to vote for Luna Park at the Boardwalk. Best slide on property.

Well - I loved AKL's pool - but my DD9 prefers the serpent slide at POFQ's pool - which I agree it very whimsical and fun.

We are booked at BC for August , so SAB will probably be the new favourite - it looks awsome.

The sliding out the clowns mouth at BWI looks horrifying LOL
(clowns scare me)
