We're (okay me) are trying to put together a wedding in Disney in January. Doing it through Disney is too expensive. After speaking with some people, I found we can still get married in Disney, but I'm not sure about staying at which resort. Any suggestions or anyone who has done this. Help needed!!!!!

Your subject says with kids so I'm guessing that means with kids of your own who will be accompanying you to your wedding/honeymoon. If that's the case, I would just pick the resort you want/can afford and I'm sure your kids will love it regardless. I really can't say there's a 'bad' hotel for kids in WDW so see which ones appeal to you and go from there. We'll br bringing our then 3 month old daughter with us on our honeymoon in June and we're staying at the GF and AKL, both for their own reasons. We picked the GF because it's my fiancé's favorite resort, has a great location, and is essentially the most luxurious of the Disney resorts. We are splitting are stay there with AKL because that's one of my favorite resorts, it has a very secluded feel to it, and we really want to do the Sunrise Safari and can only do it as AKL concierge guests. So that's how we decided and maybe it'll help you. I also hear great things about the WL for honeymoons, and my other favorite resort is the Poly because of it's tropical feel and great location. I hope that helps you and congrats on the wedding!!

I'd look into a DVC resort so you can have seperate sleeping areas for the newlyweds and the kids. ;)

Try renting points. VWL would be nice or OKW. At a regular resort you will need at least two rooms.

Any of the moderates have pool slides and all the stuff kids want. You could get a king room for yourselves and two queens for the kids. At POR you can have 5 in a room or at any of the deluxes, except AKL or WL (for 5 you would need a deluxe room).

If you have to stay at value resort, I would pick Pop Centruy. It's new, they don't share buses and the rooms (THANK HEAVEN) are more subdued than the All Stars. You can also get king beds at PC.

When we got married at Disney (Sunset Point at Poly), we stayed at the Boardwalk Villas. We enjoyed it so much, we bought into DVC with the Boardwalk as our home. It was a great location and our kids (7 and 6 at the time) had a blast! I would also recommend the Beach Club. I agree with susy and ducklite - the DVC resorts would be ideal as you could have separate sleeping areas (like BWV and BCV). Enjoy!

Thanks all, I have been checking prices, where have all the deals gone? I'm going to look into renting points too... So much to do so little time.:yo-yo:

Hi! You can indeed have a wedding in your hotel room on Disney property, without going through FTW, but just be aware that you aren't allowed to have a wedding anywhere else on WDW property, unless you go through the proper routes. I don't know what your plans are. You may be planning to do it in your room. But just wanted to make you aware of this - the CM's have no problem busting up illegal ceremonies held on WDW property.
Cheers!
