Which resort for holiday season

Hi
We are looking to go down maybe the 18th of Dec. Which resort would make us feel the most xmas spirit? I was thinking WIlderness Lodge might have a huge tree??? We are DVC members(new) and prefer a DVC resort.


Also how hard is it to find availability that week leading to xmas? ANy more info would great too. We have never been down during this time.

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge last Christmas and loved it. It has a huge tree in the lobby. We cannot wait to stay there again during Christmas.

The Wilderness Lodge is GREAT during the holidays. There's nothing better than the huge tree, the garland, and the roaring fire.

I agree , Wilderness Lodge is great during the holiday season!!!!!
My DW and I will be back Dec. 2-17 and will be there. Can't wait to walk into the lobby and see the tree and fireplace!!!!!! This will be our forth time at the lodge during the Christmas season and it is always special for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

another vote for the wilderness lodge. we also enjoy the boardwalk during the christmas season. both resorts have such a great vibe to begin with & beautiful christmas decor.

as for booking, i like to have things done in advance. another suggestion at wdw is the candlelight processional at epcot, this is one of our favorites during the holidays at wdw.

The AKL is simply jaw-dropping during the holidays. Not in a traditional Currier and Ives sense though, it's very exotic.

The BW has the most exquisite decorations though. The garlands and chocolate amusement park never cease to amaze me. The lobby is simply stunning.

Wilderness Lodge!

Be sure to book early, as many people are realizing this and booking WL for December. I have heard that weekends can be especially tough as many locals come for the weekend too.

Count another vote for WL! We stayed there this past holiday season and absolutely loved it! We visited a lot of the resorts to see their decorations and they are all beautiful but, for me, WL was the best. Believe it or not, I was able to get a discounted rate only a couple of months before, so maybe I got lucky. We had a courtyard view, north wing, right in front of the waterfall on the 4th floor. Stunning. One of the best stays we've had in WDW.

VWL sound great!I can only book there 7 moths in advance which would be next month. Is that to late?

Also how is Old Key West?

For the last 2 Decembers we've stayed at Boardwalk, once in the Inn and once in a villa. The trees are not as huge as WL or AK, but the decorations are beautiful, and you're right by Epcot and the Boardwalk which are open later. It's nice having so much going on right near by after the other parks close.

It's just a 10 minute ride to Epcot where you can walk around at night enjoying the holiday atmosphere, or just sit on the Boardwalk and enjoy the beautiful decorations and view there.

We still go to Artist Point at WL and enjoy the decorations, and the Grand Floridian Cafe at the GF and enjoy the decorations, and I would have to agree, that AK is stunning!!! Although, we didn't care for Jiko or Boma, but we have really enjoyed being near the holiday atmosphere in the Epcot area.

Very romantic with holiday music, Santa storytelling, Christmas goodies, etc. walking around World Showcase and only a pleasant 10 minute boatride or walk to your room.

Wilderness Lodge just takes your breath when you walk in the lobby. It's so beautiful and the fire that they have running in the giant fireplace just adds to the ambiance.

AKL is also gorgeous during the holidays. They too have a massive tree and is just absolutely stunning.

GF of course has the giant gingerbread house and the decor is christmas sophisticate (that's what I call it at least)

POR also has a great tree in the lobby and the registration area is filled with these great big garlands.
