DH and I MIGHT get the chance to spend a couple of days without kids at WDW in June next year. We´ve never done that before and have never stayed on-site before (although we´ll be staying with the kids at the ASMO in December).

We would probably go to the parks for 2-3 days. Definately EPCOT and MK.

Which resort would you choose and why? I´m open to all suggestions and categories.

Wilderness Lodge or Yacht and Beach Club.

Both are amongst the Quietest resorts , WL is the most secluded and is probably the most romantic -- You could have dinner at Artist Point and California Grill , Close to MK , always love renting boats there.

Y&B - has the closeness of all the great Restuarants in Epcot , depending on what type of passes you have - you could have a great dinner every night in the WS , Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of the most underrated/underappreciated places to eat in all of WDW.

The Poly. Very romantic setting. Also, you can easily to get to MK & EPCOT from the Poly.

Wilderness Lodge is sooooo quiet, nice walks around the resort, can even walk over to FW, which is another popular spot for us. Evening are sooo quiet there, Crockett's Tavern is a great place to stop in to wet your whistle and grab a pizza, being the campground more inland, this place has hardly any people, horse barn there too. the boat over from WL is a nice night ride and the EWP on the Bay is great with a glass of wine from the beach. There are many nook and crannies locate in the Lodge, couches and love seats, fireplace all secluded around the lobby, again, take a bottle of wine and schmooze. The boat to MK is another nice but quick trip and boating over to the CR, again a drink or 2 at the Outer Rim overlooking Bay Lake is awesome and from here you can monorail to EPCOT transfer or stay on and hit the Poly and GF for a stroll. We really enjoy the MK area resorts, just seems alot to do and alot going on every night, our pick for romantic and secluded schmoozing resort.

My hubby and I are doing our first non-kid trip in Sept for 4 days and plan on staying at either POR or POFQ primarily because they are close to DTD where we plan to go most nights and they both have a boat that goes there. When we have the kids we don't get the chance to go to some of the clubs at Pleasure Island as we usually go to bed with the kids after being in parks all day! Have fun on both of your trips!

We went to the Wilderness Lodge this past January and it was just me and my husband. I would highly recommend.

CSR is really beautiful - especially at night. I think it's perfect for a romantic getaway. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your input. It´s greatly appreciated :)

One tent, one sleeping bag, and the Fort Wilderness. Nothing will get you closer together.

Value---------All Star Music

DH and I enjoy the landscaping and peacefulness of All Star Music.
We enjoy relaxing by the pool (there are plenty of chairs and lounges), and the beautiful lighting at the resort by night.

Mod ----------CSR ----more admenities, spa, gym, room service.
OR............................
POFQ -----more compact than the other mods

Deluxe----Swan/Dolphin

The Swan/Dolphin offen has great rates that cost about as much as a Disney Moderate.

They are real 4 star hotels.

Deluxe but not as expensive as Disney's deluxe resorts.

The heavenly beds are ...well heavenly.

The Grotto pool and hot tubs are fun and relaxing.

Plus Epcot and MGM are just a short boat ride or walk away!

From Epcot hop on the monorail and head on over to the MK!

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

First thought WL because we stayed there pre-baby days. But I'm dying to try YC/BC with or without her. So, maybe I'm no help. Dolphin is nice, but maybe Swan is more "romantic" and the Boardwalk area is fun. If you stay at an EPCOT resort go to Jellyrolls--fun piano bar!

Poly is huge and I felt like we were the only ones staying there, so that is nice too.

So, yep, no help. okay, bye.

Boardwalk- 100%

Such a beautiful and deluxe resort. The Inn side has such a beautiful garden area and quiet pool. Then the DVC side has a rockin pool area. The boardwalk is so cool, lots of action, great resaurant- Flyin Fish. Jelly rolls, Atlantic dance Hall. Can walk or boat to MGM(ahhh HS I mean) & EPCOT.We just love it here. You can see Illuminations at night from the Boardwalk.

Put my vote down as Boardwalk or Beach Club. We love both hotels, and they are both fun, but still have the romantic aspect of Disney deluxe. We love sitting out on our little balcony at the Boardwalk overlooking the people below and Epcot in the distance. Enjoy your trip and the "kid free time.":thumbsup2

I was originally going to suggest the WL, but I changed my mind to the Poly for the fun factor.

Poly is a beautiful and romantic resort, but also have a very fun atmosphere! There is a luau you can get ADR's for, pool with a volcano, and great entertainment/singer at the lounge. It's a monorail ride away from MK & TTA (leading to Epcot). You can also watch Wishes and the EWP from their very romantic beach at night!

If you can afford it, I would stay at the Poly!
