My husband and I had decided on POFQ for ourselves and the two kids just after Thanksgiving. Now my mother has said she wants to come with us , so... do we get two rooms or try for something else somewhere else? We have AAA, so are getting 20% off the one room at moderates and would only get 15% at a deluxe... and I am not sure if a deluxe would fit us all anyway. :confused3

Any ideas from those of you who have been there before? :wave2:

Thanks!

I would get two rooms at POFQ. When I went with my mother, sister and her two small kids 3 & 4 we got connecting rooms. Worked out great when the kids went to sleep we could keep the doors open and the adults could go to the other room to watch TV. Two bathrooms was nice too!

We are going in July with 3 adults and 2 small children and they booked us in POR because it would hold 5. It has a trundle bed. We have AAA also and it sure saved alot but we booked thru WDW and asked for the AAA rates will just show our card when we get there. We do it this was because once we did book directly with AAA and things got alittle mixed up.

You are "legal" in any room because the 2 yr old does not count. However that may be close quarters. I don't know if your mom would want to sleep with the 4 year old in a double bed. I personally would get two rooms rather than try one bigger one at a deluxe for the extra privacy. Maybe one night the kids could sleep in your mom's room and you would have the room to yourselves. You could go out in the evening and come in late and have a date. We are hoping for Grammie and Oopa to come through for us this way on our next trip. ;)

I think it depends on how close you are as a family. I travel quite alot with my sister, her husband, and their 3 children. We have stayed in 1 room at POR without a problem. But then my b-i-l is a rare gem! He jokes that I am his 2nd wife, just without all of the fringe benefits! :tilt:

I would try to rent points from a DVC owner and get a unit with 2 bedrooms or get two seperate rooms. I love my Mother and my MIL but I would feel weird being cramped into the same room. ;)
