which resort after xmas to new years

We are planning a trip to disney between xmas and new years for the first time. Our home resort is beach club but I was wondering which resort is a favorite at this time of year and if I stand a chance of getting anything besides our home resort anyway?

I have no idea about availablity at the 7 month mark. This year is the first we'll be going during that time frame. We will be booking BWV at 11 months, but I must admit that the way some of the SSR people describe their SSR's NYE party/fireworks at DTD, I'm tempted to try for that at 7 months.

You should work out a trade with somone, probably a VWL owner. You reserve the BCV at 11 mo. out and they reserve VWL at 11mo. and trade. Sounds great, does anyone do this?
