Which rental car ?

Which rental car do you use? and Why? are you in a club, or is it price driven?

I guess I'll start: I picked national. I'm in there club, but I can usually find a deal, working hard on the computer. If I could not I would try others.

When prices are comparable, I will always go for National. I have had great service with them. Use their Emerald Club so I can bypass the counter which is an exceptional benefit to me and I love being able to pick the car that I want as opposed to being assigned one. My second choice would be Dollar or Avis depending on price. I have had good service from both of them as well, but over the last 5 years or so Dollar and National have always had the best prices in my situation.

We found Hertz to be quicker than National. Price was better too.

This past trip was my first time ever renting a car. I signed up for all the MCO in airport companies and their e-mail alerts. The best price I received was for National Intermediate EA at $124/8 days, so I booked that but still looked at all the others up until the day before I left. National still had the best price. I had researched all the boards here and National seemed to be liked the best, even with the new Executive Aisle that just got implemented. I didn't see alot of cars to choose from, only about 4; but that may be because I was nervous and not sure where to look anyway. But I was happy with the car and the service for pick up and drop off. Very easy. I was over an hour late coming back and they did charge me $14.33; which I did expect.

We used National last time and were happy with the service and price. Got the best price using rentalcodes.com and then continued to check it to see if the price went down which it did. Alamo and National use the same cars at MCO and the Alamo line was a good 20 people deep and at National there was only 1 person ahead of me. No hard sell on insurance either.

I go by price 1st but National is what I will choose most often. DH has a bad back and likes that he can pick out his car on the Emeral Aisle. Since we always take a mid size, it works out for us.
