Thanks to all the wonderful information on these boards, I got two great car rental deals for next week. Trying to decide which to go with. Travelling is 2 adults, a 2 year old and a 6 year old. Hoping for only 2 suitcases and one small umbrella stroller.

Dollar Express:
$195 base rate for SUV Mid-size (Ford Escape or similar)

National Emerald Club:
$189 base rate for Fullsize - Chevrolet Impala Or Similar
Note: This is Emerald Reserve, NOT Emerald Isle, so we can only get a full size

My question - I have never rented from Dollar before. Would you take the SUV for just a few dollars more and hope the service at Dollar Express is good? Or would you stick with the full size at National - at least you know what you are getting with the service, car, etc.

Thanks in advance!!

I would go with National. I enjoy the level of service that National provides plus the Impala has a HUGE trunk which will make it nice for your luggage or if you wanted to stop for groceries on the way.

Great deals by the way. :woohoo:

I would get the SUV for $6 more. Both agencies are in the airport so there is no real advantage to renting from National.

I'd avoid Thrifty and Dollar IMO, they seem to have the worst vehicles in terms of condition of any of the major rental agencies.
