Which Rainforest cafe is "better"? We'll be celebrating my best friends birthday at the World on December 5th ( which is a monday), and she wants to eat at Rainforest Cafe. I originally made the ADR for the DTD Cafe at 7pm, but now Im starting to think they may be REALLY busy, and we might have a better expereince with a less crowded time/location! Im wodering if it might be better to try for a late lunch there, or at the AK RFC. Any input? Is the AK RFC more crowded? Lunch or dinner??

Also, does anyone know if they have a special dessert or cake for birthdays?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've never eaten at the one at AK but everytime we go in its less crowded than the one at DTD. I personally think that it would be more quiet, and I would have a late lunch early dinner because I think that the crowds would be lower that way.

We have eaten at both. At the AK we didn't get to "see" much as the only table available was in the bar. I like DTD one better. However, the wait at DTD is terrible. It was 2 1/2 hours last Friday night. During the day though, we have been seated right away. Not sure how quickly you will be seated with a 7PM PS.

I have eaten at both multiple times, and in my experience the one at AK is always better.

The DD location is always much more crowded and noisy. It attracts not only vacationers but locals, too.

The AK location has better servers and better food quality.

If you show up without a ressie, the wait times at the AK location are always much shorter.

I have sworn off the DD location and will only eatr at the AK location when I'm at WDW.

I havent been to the DTD one, but I have been to the AK one 3 times. I loved it.

I agree about the AK location being better. I think the food is the same at all of them but the wait was only like five minutes and our server was one of the best on our trip. He was very down to earth, friendly and yet very efficient. We had a great meal :flower: :flower: :flower:

Hope you and your friends have a wonderful time!

We've eaten at both and the DTD is definitely busier, particularly during the evening. What else will you want to do? We invariably eat at the RFC when we're visiting AK because we're not that keen on the other options there. I don't know that I'd go there just to eat, though. There's a good vibe at DTD during the evening (and by that I mean the entire area, not particularly the RFC) so, for a birthday celebration, a dinner ressie at that location might work better. If all you plan to do is turn up, eat at the RFC and leave, I'd probably choose the AK location.

I have reservations for 7:00 pm at RFC at DTD in Nov, will I have enough time to see all the stores and stuff. I guess what I'm asking is: when does DTD close? I know it depends on the day, but on avg. in Nov, when is closing time? I have little ones, so I'm not interested in adult things.
