Which Rain Forest Cafe?

We coming down his July and my girls 20,20 & 17 want to
try the RFC, but which is better the one at AK or DTD. Are they diff. inside or basically the same ?

They are basically the same. We typically do the one in AK. for lunch. It's a nice break in the afternoon from AK heat. I've heard you can't make reservations for the one in DTD while you can make them for the one in AK. Not sure if that's true or not.

Just about the same. The AK location seems to be less crowded, and we don't feel the tables are as tightly packed in there, as they are at DTD. But, at DTD, there are other things to do before/after your meal. At AK, there isn't much else besides RFC, except the AK itself.

The atmosphere is kind of fun at RFC ... that is about it .... just my opinion.

We have eaten at one at the Mall of America (Bloomington, Minnesota), at DTD and at AK ... in that order, each a few years apart. Never been impressed with the food, (maybe its all in my head after we were not impressed with the first one we went to at Mall of America), but the food got worse each one we went to .... over a 6 or 7 year time period. I'm pretty sure we are done trying!!!!

... just my two cents ... others may differ in opinion, but in my opinion, don't expect top notch food.

We always do DTD. You can sign in and shop while you wait for your return time. The food is great, the service is great, and the decor is totally different than most restaurants.

We like the one at AK. Only for the reason that we don't spend much time at DTD- we always go to Planet Hollywood when we go there. We always use a late lunch meal at rfc while we're doing the AK park and it works well for us. The last time we attempted to go to the DTD location we were told the wait was over an hour...on a Tuesday at 4:00. We thought for sure it would be almost dead, because of the day of the week and the time- and it was in January. So, we stick to the one at AKL. The food is the same. Same options, cooked the same and tastes the same. AKL, the longest we've waited (we go there probably twice a year) is 15 minutes.

They are both basically the same......not very good.

They are basically the same. Both are owned by Landry's and serve the same type of foods that can be found at Chili's or TGI Fridays, just with jungle type names and a few extras thrown in (can't get a Boma Wrap at Fridays ) We usually grab lunch at the DAK one because we can then walk our lunch off walking through the park. And if you have an AP I believe the AP discount can only be applied to the DAK location of RFC (I'd have to double check my AP perks book to verify that though)

We love RFC - we usually eat at both locations while at Disney. They're both the same so I would eat at whichever is convenient. The DTD seems to be more busy than the one at AK.
