Which Program for MacBook? Just starting

I want to learn how to make my own designs.
I want to make Magnets for DCL cruises and name fills. Stuff like that.
What program will be best for a person using a MacBook?

I use GIMP. It's a free download. It takes a while to figure out, but there are plenty of youtube videos out there, which have helped tremendously!
