We are taking our 8 yo DD to Disney in Sept. Are you more likely to see more princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus for Breakfast? Which is a nicer experience? Also, would she would enjoy the Hoop Dee Doo Revue or the Aloha Dinner show more.

My DH and I took our other girls in 05 to the Revue and had a good time. We would like to see something new, but not if she would enjoy the Revue more.

We also took the girls to the Castle for Breakfast. That was when the Fairy godmother was there, we saw 6 princesses and the stuffed french toast was amazing. I understand that has changed.

I would appreciate any thoughts. We want to give our other DD just as an amazing experience as our other 3 had!

I haven't been to Ankershus yet (that's the plan for July) so I can't speak to which one is better. It sounds like you get more princesses at Ankershus but they also put Mary Poppins (so I've heard) and Mulan in there. I like being able to say that I've eaten in the Castle. That's just special.

The Polynesian show, if you've never done it before, might be what I would pick if y'all have never done it before. I like HDDR though so I'm a little biased.

we did akershus (lunch) and crt (breakfast) in sept. They're both really nice so I don't think you'll go wrong no matter which you choose. Some people don't like the akershus food but I thought it was some of the best we ate in the parks so go figure...

I think the experience part is better at crt. Its in the castle, they do the little wands, etc but otherwise I found the character interaction to be about the same. CRT has the photo op with cindy, akershus does the same thing with belle.

I've now done quite a few character meals at both wdw and disneyland and most of them are pretty much the same. Except for chef mickey's which I thought was pretty gross food wise, the rest have all been great fun and offered good food for the price.

I don't know about hoop de doo or aloha, haven't done those... yet :)

We prefer Akershus over CRT, especially for breakfast. At CRT you will get maybe one more princess than you would get over at Akershus. The last 2 times that we went to Akershus (both of which were last year) we saw Belle greeting us at the door for pictures, then we saw Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, and SB come around to our table. Of course the princesses are subject to change anytime (except Belle because she is permanent). At CRT you meet Cinderella downstairs before dinner for pictures and then you will get to see (of course this too is subject to change, except for Cinderella since you are dining in her castle, but these are who we saw in September) Ariel, Belle (in her blue gown), Jasmine, SB, and Snow White. We do like dining in the Castle because it is the castle but the princess interaction, food, and service is so much better at Akershus.

As for the dinner show, we are going to Spirit of Aloha for the first time this May (well first for DH and my 2 DDs...I haven't been since I was a kid back in the 80's), the show sounds like it will be very entertaining, even though I have heard many negative reviews on it. Hope this helps you some, but most importantly have a great trip.

We did Arkerhaus for breakfast in July and it was really good. Food was good and plentiful. Princesses all came over and took time to talk, take pictures and sign autographs. The photo stop in beginning went smooth but on way out it seemed to be backed up a little. The parade through the room fell a little flat for us.

Akershus is better. better food, better princess interaction

IMO the breakfast food is better at Akershus, but you can't beat eating in the castle!

In November, the princesses were the same at both, with the exception of who greets.

CRT: Cinderella greeting, Belle (blue dress), Ariel, Snow White, Aurora
Akershus: Belle greeting (yellow gown), Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, Aurora.

At CRT the girls get a wishing star and a wand, at Akershus they can participate in a little parade let by the princesses.

CRT is a must do at least once! You have to eat in the Castle!

Never been to Akershus, picky eaters have banned it and DD is done dining with Princesses now! I do not like that she is done with princesses but she does like the other characters.

So get the princesses in while you can!!

Hoop De Doo is wonderful we loved it!! I highly recommend it!! DD & DS liked it alot, so did we.

We have not tried the Aloha Dinner Show but it is on my list for our trip in July 2012.

:thumbsup2

I would do Akershus for breakfast. CRT is only worth it because of the castle experience.. Have you though about 1900 park far dinner? You get to see Cinderella, the prince, Stepmother, and the Step sister. Your daughter would get a chance to dance with the prince and Cinderella. I love the food there.

We ate at Akershus for breakfast last September. We saw Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White!

CRT!! Eating in the castle is really special, all my kids love it. Getting the wand and wishing star is a treat. Plus the service for breakfast is really great and each person gets their own plate and they will bring seconds, even with out asking sometimes :thumbsup2

Akerus is nice but CRT food is better and the experience is more magical.

This is the 2nd year in a row we did HDDR and my kids still loved it. We did SOA for the first time and after we ate my daugher wanted to know if we could go yet because she was bored. The show is just not that great, food is good but HDDR is more engaging especially for younger kids.

Good luck, all your options are good but my vote is for CRT and HDDR.

We did CRT and if you haven't done it before, you definitely need to do it! I think we'll try Askershus for this next trip, but I would be torn if we hadn't done CRT last time, kwim? It was a lot of fun - not as formal as I expected at first, but a really nice sit-down meal with a lot of extras. We were there for lunch and had oodles of food and great entertainment.

We have eaten both breakfast and lunch at Akershus, and we have eaten lunch at CRT. I prefer the atmosphere, food, and character interaction at CRT over Akershus.

The food at Akershus was good (both breakfast and lunch), but the character interaction was rushed and automated. It lacked warmth and spontaneity.

I have never had breakfast at the Castle, but lunch at the Castle was unbelievably delicious. The food was sooooo good! Also, the princesses were very warm and friendly. They didn't make me feel rushed to get the picture, as they did at Akershus both times. Plus, we loved seeing Jasmine at the Castle and the atmosphere cannot be beat!

As for the luau, I would give it a try sometime, but not in August or September. It is outside, and it is too hot to be enjoyable during that time of year. In fact, if it rains a lot that evening, they might even cancel it.

I would stick with the Hoop Dee Doo, which my daughter loved, and the dining room is in the nice, cool air conditioning.
