I can either go with a MK view no concierge or GV with concierge? I do like having access to the lounge but will I be disappointed with the room view? Any thoughts or comments on this?

I toyed with this decision as well, but (for now) have decided on the non-concierge room... I'd rather be able to sit on my balcony and watch fireworks than have the concierge services. But my trip is almost a year away-- so it could definitely change!

Anxious to see what you decide!

We have made that decision a number of times and always go with the Garden View Concierge room, and are doing the same this summer. The view from a Garden View room in the Hawaii building will be out towards the quiet pool, and the 2 story tall windows in the lounge are great for watching the fireworks :earsboy:

For me personally I like to have the lagoon view. I love how relaxing it is to be able to see the Seven Seas Lagoon from my own room. Concierge is nice but unless I can go for Lagoon View Concierge I'm just happy with my regular lagoon view room. :thumbsup2

Every time we stayed in concierge rooms, the lounge was full of messy, yelling, annoying kids. The MK view rooms are nice and private- pull the day bed over to the patio door and relax.

If you want some munchies for your stay it is cheaper to go shopping or use one of the grocery services if you do not rent a car.

We haven't stayed concierge, but we have stayed MK view at the Poly, which I just loved.

With a little one, it was great. We were able to have any early bedtime and she could still watch the fireworks and the water parade from the balcony in her pajamas. Also, having DD3 wake up in the middle of the night and yell out, "Mama, Mama, Cinderella Castle right there" is one of my best memories. The joy on her face was truly priceless.

Also the lagoon and MK rooms seemed much more private.

I love that. You just made me SO happy with my decision!!! princess:

If i hadn't stayed in both room types I might say go with the castle view.
But having stayed concierge and having small kids I'd pick the garden view. The quiet pool is a nice view and you can see the fireworks from the lounge and the concierge just made everything so easy for us.
I'm sure the lounge can get crazy sometimes but we never had crowds or messy loud kids.

I'd take the view over the snacks any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Club level is really not all it is cracked up to be, IMO.

It is a difficult decision.

Me? I'd take the mk view. I just love looking out my window at Cinderella's castle. But having said that, we had a terrible room once on the 2nd floor which the palm trees were in the way and we could only see a piece of the castle. Very disappointing and no room change possible because they were full.

DH? He'd choose concierge.

My Dgang (18 and over) would choose concierge too.

I'd opt for the GV CL just for the simple fact that you could be in that building. You can see the fireworks from the beach and still have a wonderful time while getting the benefits of CL. :)

We have only stayed Concierge Garden and love it. Although, the Lagoon/Magic Kingdom view seems like it would be wonderful :cloud9: I think my family is a little, too, greedy to give up their snacks :rotfl: Although, the Polynesian has the best offerings of any of the concierge resorts, imo.

We stayed at the Poly in January and had a lagoon view room in the Tahiti building - first floor. It was perfect. The kids could play on the grass and on the beach, and we watched the fireworks at night from our room. Our kids are young, so they loved seeing Space Mountain and the castle when they looked out the window.

I would definitely do that again.

MK view definitely! That view is one of a kind. If you're doing the DDP, then the extra food in the lounge won't make a big difference. Also, if you plan on spending most of your time away from the resort, you won't be around to take advantage of the food offerings in the lounge. IMO a private MK view is just more appealing that one in a lounge. I like the idea of sitting on the balcony watching the fireworks while my nephew is tucked in bed.

Gosh now I am even more confused. LOL. I thought the CL GV would win hands down. I guess my thoughts were we are always in a park when the fireworks are going off. My son is 3 but always stays out late at Disney. My reasoning was not having to fight the crowds at breakfast time. I fell in love with AKL CL but did not like WL CL (just seemed impersonal compared to AKL). Now I dont know what to do.

Keep the responses coming. Everyone makes very good points. I want to use this to show DH when we book the actual room.

What donaldndaisy said. DS and DD loved heading down the hallway to breakfast, as well as midday snacks and evening light fare. It gave DH and I a nice little treat, too, and it was nice to not have to go out to Captain Cook's, especially if you are an early riser and want to just have a little extra space while the family is still sleeping.

We never found the lounge noisy or messy, but we did go a few years ago (2005) and maybe things have changed. Our GV concierge room was perfect, we loved seeing the castle from the Hawaii lounge or directly from the beach. For us, having an additional MK or lagoon-view from the room was really worth nothing.

My reasoning was not having to fight the crowds at breakfast time.

Breakfast with the Disney characters is the best experience with the little ones (older ones too) - get your PS reservations in and you won't have to fight any crowds at all... in fact I can't think of any crowds in the AM hours.

MK view - I don't think concierge is worth the money IMO.

Well not having stayed at either view yet I would still vote for the Club Level room. As you related having stayed at CL before it is so nice to have the service of the IPO to help change your dining requests and yes I know you can pick up the phone at the resort and do the same thing but it is so much easier to have them do it vs sitting on the phone for a half hour listening to music when you could be in the park already. Having the drinks and snacks all day is a plus for us and not having to go out for breakfast is another plus. That being said had we never stayed CL before we wouldn't have missed it but once you have it is really difficult to break away from it. As well the view from the Poly lounge for Wishes I hear can't be beat since if it is a cool night you won't be outside and you have the luxuary to have a sanck and beverage and watch the fireworks if you desire without being trampled when they are over.
