Hi

My fiancée and I (from the UK) are looking at booking WDW for our honeymoon in late-August next year. We've looked into the dining plans but can't decide whether to go for the Disney Dining plan or the deluxe.

We've visited Disneyland Paris several times before and generally found that if we had a BIG buffet breakfast, we didn't really need anything until dinner in the evening.

We're both very active and fairly health-concious so are keen to eat 'real' food throughout the trip rather than processed fried food. I ran the Boston Marathon back in April and managed to gain 21lb in five days after the race whilst still in the states; we just ate constant garbage. I want to avoid the high fructose corn syrup like the plague too!

I was looking at the Deluxe dining plan so we could have a buffet character breakfast each morning (are there enough different places that offer character breakfasts?) then double-up the credits so we can dine at the signature restaurants (to hopefully eat more 'real' food). I'm just concerned that it will just be TOO MUCH food and we won't get through it all!

If they offered a plan which involved two table-service and one quick-service it would be ideal, but no such luck!

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys

I think the DxDDP fits well with what you want to do, in fact, the majority of people on these boards who get the DxDDP use it exactly the way you describe.

Character Breakfast buffets include:
1900 Park Fare
Ohana
Chef Mickey
Tusker House
Crystal Palace
Akershus
Cinderella's Royal Table (although this is a 2 credit meal for all three meals)
Hollywood & Vine (this one has Disney Jr characters that you may not know)
Cape May Buffet
And then Boma at AK has a breakfast buffet without characters, but some interesting items.

Most of the breakfasts have the same basic foods, but then each of them have some unique offerings as well.

Just a note - the Signature Restaurants (2 TS) tend not to have huge portions. Take a look at the images of the various menu items. Of course add in dessert and it can seem like a lot. However, if you are just planning breakfast and then a signature - I think you will be fine. Sounds like a good fit for what you want to do .

the DxDP can be a good value IF fully utilized. If you are truly going to do a character breakfast every single morning, and a signature restaurant every single dinner, and you are always going to get appetizers and desserts with dinner.... This plan will likely still save you some money. And it certainly is nice to do lots of signature dinners on a Honeymoon. If, on the other hand, you think you will be stuffed and bored of restaurants after just a couple of days... if you want the flexibility to say, "I'm not hungry after all, I just want to grab a light salad for dinner"... then I'd say skip the plans entirely.

I agree

If you are going to do a lot of character meals and signature meals, I would do the Deluxe... I think the meals are alot of food, but we usually do not eat appetizers and/or desserts with meals... since we have kids, we are not doing any signature meals, so we are just doing the regular plan...if it was just dh and I - I would definately do more signature restaurants!

We have looked at the deluxe plan, but have never done it due to the amount of time involved. Even with the standard plan, we end up planning our days around our dining reservations and we do not like to be locked in to a set schedule. If dining is more important than park time, go for it. If not, I would stay with the standard. For us, we are still full blown commando park strategists and the CS is the only plan that will work for us. We do add a TS or two each trip, normally at Rose and Crown to watch Illuminations and sometimes a character buffet.
