I am considering buying the Passporter guide and can't decide which version! Should I buy the deluxe or spiral edition, are they reusable or do I buy a new one every tri and can pages be rearranged in both editions?

I have been to WDW lots of times but will I find this guide useful or is it aimed at first timers?:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have the deluxe version. It's a ringed notebook, sort of like a Day-Timer planner. The binder itself has pockets and slots to hold anything from room keys to park maps. Pages can be removed and replaced with updates from the website. You can also add pages of your own.

I like the fact that I can adjust the number of pass pockets depending on the length of my trip. I can also easily remove one pass pocket each day and take it along, instead of carrying the whole binder around with me.

Another advantage is that you can remove pages that you don't need during the trip itself (like the ones on choosing a resort). It lightens the load.

The refill kit (updated edition and new pass pockets) costs about the same as a spiral-bound edition. Or you can purchase just the updated text or just more passpockets. It's not necessary to purchase a new edition for every trip if you only need the pass pockets.

I really like mine and with less than 2 months to go until our trip, I've been carrying it everywhere I go.

I have the spiral version and regret not getting the deluxe edition. With the spiral, you can not rearrange the pages. I can't answer the question about just getting updates, because this is the first time I've bought one. I can tell you that it is not just for first timers to WDW, though. It is a wonderful organizational planner as well as guide book.

I LOVE the pockets where you can keep information. You get one for each day of your trip along with one for accomodations and one for "our journey'.

I highly recommend the Passporter. I would go for the deluxe, though. Being able to remove pages would be great when you take the book with you on your trip.

Good luck!

I have the Deluxe version as well - I bought it in 2001 and used it for 2 trips that year (just bought more pockets for the second trip). This year (2 trips again - love those APs) I bought the update and replaced the entire contents of the binder with the new pages/pockets. I also like adding my own pages with tips I learn from this site - like the "Secrets" threads.

I highly recommend it and it makes planning easier and more fun.

I recommend the deluxe edition. I have several of the spiral editions from previous trips, and finally invested in the deluxe edition since I've taken numerous trips in the past year. I just buy extra pass pockets so I can write in the thoughts for the day. It's fun going back to see what I did, where I ate, what the weather was like, and what kind of craziness happened during a trip!

I am hoping to buy the Deluxe (have last year's spiral edition) before we go. It really looks great.

I don't think the Passporter is for beginner's only. I enjoyed the ratings of restaurants...everytime we like to try something new, so the ratings help us to decide.

Thanks for all the info!! I love to plan so the deluxe edition it is!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Another vote for the deluxe version. Since it's made like a daytimer I used it last year to keep my Driver's license, credit card, plane tickets, etc in. That way I wasn't searching through my purse at airline check-in, it was all right there because I kept a really tight grip on my Passporter :teeth:

With 3 months to go for me, I never leave home without it!

How much did the deluxe cost? I want to go buy one today, but don't want to be sticker-shocked. Thanks

I like the sounds of this thing. What is it exactly and where can I get my hands on one of these interesting items.

I have the Deluxe and love it. I just buy updates for the next year and then tie my old ones together.

Here is the place to buy the Deluxe:

Passporter Store
They run about $34.00 and updates/refills run $19.00. (They are well worth the money.)

If you really want a spiral, they have them at most local bookstores.

When we are planning a trip, everything goes into it right a way. When we had our seasonal passes, they were kept in there all year long, that way I knew exactly where they were and didn't have to hunt for them. We kept our Disney Club card in there too, also our Rainforest Cafe card. Before they had color maps in the Passporter, I would print a map of each park in color and put it with the regular map in the book.

Once we get to the Resort, we grab a map of each park and once in the room, put them into our Passporter and so we have clean maps from each trip. Any thing else we pickup, goes right into it. It makes it easy to keep track of your receipts, and other things you want to keep as souveniers.

I bought my first one in 2001 and it was a spiral edition, have since bought a deluxe edition and updates each year, except this year. I loved my first one so much, that I found the 1999 and 2000 editions were on sale, so I bought them too, and put all our trip info into them. When I take an update out, since they have covers, I use string and just thread the string through the holes and tie them together.
