Which parks could we do in one day?

Would it be possible to do Epcot and MGM in one day? I'm trying to free up and extra day to spend at the Magic Kingdom. Oh and I mean one full day for both parks. Is it possible? Thanks.

If your trying to do BOTH MGM and EPCOT in one day you are insane, becaue that is impossible. You could do Animal Kingdom in one day and be comfortable that you saw all that the park has to offer, MGM you could do In one day and not miss too much. EPCOT takes a full day to do, like opening to closing. And the Magic Kingdom.....well I think you know that its nearly impossible to do roughly half of the Magic Kingdom in one day.

YOUR INTEREST IN ANY PARTICULAR PARK OR RIDE WILL MATTER THE MOST.

But its more likely to "do" AK and MGM in a single day.

Find a MORNING EMH day at AK, and go EARLY
Leave by 3 or 4pm to go to MGM and stay and "ride" until time to view the LATE "Fantasmic!" (assuming there IS a late "Fantasmic!", which would be a good day to attend).

Alternate would be to pick a day that has EVENING EMH in MGM (but still start as early as possible at AK that day.)

This is really all dependent on the time of year you visit, your interest in "doing it again", and your ability to move quickly, having a PLAN, and LUCK, LUCK, LUCK.

As for me, I want to visit all parks over several days, over separate trips made several times a year.

You could definitely do MGM in one day. You could also do AK in one day. I just don't think it's possible to do Epcot in one day, though. I've never been able to. It usually takes us 1 1/2-2 days for Epcot and the same for MK. But, we like to take our time and not rush through the attractions. I guess if you are there when the park opens and stay until closing, you may be able to do it. It also depends on the crowds, too. Have fun!

Robo,
I think I like that plan. I just looked at the schedule and on the 1st of May Animal Kingdom opens early for EMH and MGM stays open late (EMH) that night. So I think we will do those two parks that day unless we can somehow swing an additional day. I really don't want to keep the kids out of school and extra day though. I know that will be a very long day though....

I'm sorry you feel I'm insane for even thinking that. I have never been to MGM or EPCOT so I had no idea about the size of the two parks. I asked the question because I honestly did not know the answer. I have only ever been to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

A lot will depend on the time of year. If the weather is hot, it's harder to go quickly through the parks. Also, it's hard to see a lot quickly if the crowds are huge. We usually go in January, and can do AK and MGM in a day each. Epcot takes longer for us, since it's our favorite, and we poke around at every single thing there :)

Have a great trip.

To fully enjoy all the parks will take more than one day each. DW, Ds and I have AP's and have still not done everything in all the parks. EPCOT is not doable in one day, there is just too much to see and do there.

Now that I have said that, if you are just looking for the highlights, AK and MGM are the parks to do and taking advantage of EMH the way you said will let you do this. You will not be able to do everything at both parks but you will have a good time and will not feel cheated.

That is an excellent plan. Also, get yourself a good touring plan and decide right off which rides are must-do for you (esp. that evening MGM). Try to ride high-demand rides during the first Fantasmic show (FP if there's any left...they may be all gone by then) and catch the 2nd Fantasmic show.

Also, see if you can manage a break mid-day for rest. It'll be a high-energy day, and you'll need some down time.

Oh, and don't expect the family to want to rise early after a busy day. Do you have a non-park day scheduled midweek? If not, consider sleeping in the following day, and going to Epcot WS as soon as that opens (usually around 11am.)

Cranbiz,
That is what we are trying to do. We know we won't be able to see/do everything. We have to save something for our future trips anyway. :hyper:

If you just want to do the highlights - I think you could do Animal Kingdom and MGM in one day. The early morning/late night plan would be good for that. Epcot really needs at least a day for itself. And Magic Kingdom at least 2 days (if you have little kids).

I would take advantage of Fast Pass stations for popular rides. Also, a good time to do rides is when shows/parades/fireworks are happening.

Have a blast!! :flower:
