We have just 1 day at Disney for our next trip.

If I have 1 park ticket, which park would you recommend?
If I have 1 day park hopper, which parks would you recommend and in what order?

I think it would be a toss up between MK and Epcot but just want to hear thoughts.

Actually I think the most festive park for Christmas in Orlando is SeaWorld. They own Christmas (really decorate for the holidays, lots of special shows and theming -- really incredible). It's the park we always choose for Christmas day when they whole family is in Orlando for the holidays. // Sounds like, though, you are just looking for a Disney Park suggestion. If you have any inclination to try SeaWorld, I highly recommend it for a great Christmas experience.

With just one Disney Park day, I have to cater to the family and it's the classic Magic Kingdom park every time.

I'll defer to others comment on hoppers, as I only got a one day park hopper once. For that we did the MK at rope drop, stayed there till 2 p.m. and then hopped to Epcot. We did the MK on a party day (if you don't need the night time fireworks there this is a really good choice as most people want more time, so party days have light daytime crowds). Epcot lines were pretty long for attractions and we were only able to get one fastpass for what we wanted. And then as DS really loves Test Track, we skipped Illuminations and rode that three times the line was really short during Illuminations. We actually had a good time just wandering around the countries when the lines were long, though too.

I would go to MK during the day and then park hop to HS. Love the holiday decorations at HS at night. You could probably squeeze in Epcot between MK & HS.

That's a tough one. In a "normal" year, I find EP to be the most festive with decorations, food booths, storytellers and the CP. However, if we are talking 2021, it's a toss-up for me between EP, DHS and MK (that's not very helpful, is it?). If you don't want to invest in hoppers, you could also pick one park and then, perhaps visit GF and WL which are beautiful at Christmas.

This is what I was going to say. MK Main Street all lit up at night is beautiful as well so if both are open kind of late, seeing MK lit up then move to HS or reverse. Normally MK is not my favorite park, Epcot is but at Xmas it's MK and HS. HS does a sort of retro/Hollywood sort of thing. It snows there at night. They do decorate AK and Epcot. If they are doing the story tellers at Epcot again then it might sneak up there with HS to me. If that were the case, I might try to hop between the three.

One day no park hopping. I just can't say. MK is just not an all day park for us, I've never been happier then when they put PH back in because I couldn't see spending all day there. I know that is unusual but for us, MK is a half day park or a park to hop to for a few hours more than once during a trip. It is beautiful at Xmas though and I'm not sure I'd want to miss it. But then, I love HS at Xmas and not sure I'd want to miss it either. I'm guessing I just wouldn't do one day without hoppers.

Just an FYI - Dec 2020 - GF didn’t have the big gingerbread house neither did BW have their carousel, no Christmas story tellers or CP at EP or MVVCP at MK, Etc. - no guarantee that any will be back in 2021 -
So-based strictly in decorations only - I would go with MK.

Ohhh thanks for all the comments. We normally spend the bulk of our trip at DW but for our next trip, the kids really want to do Universal Studios for the first time which leaves me 1 day for DW. We love all the parks pre-pandemic but this is our first time visiting Christmas week.

I didn't realize HS is a great option for festive decorations! Now adding that to consider too :)

In a normal year, Epcot has the most holiday themed activities. There is the Candlelight Processional, the special presentations from the countries, like Father Christmas explaining the celebration in France, and other fun stuff. :) MK has the best decorations.

If MVMCP would happen to come back, I'd spend my $$ on that in a heartbeat no questions asked.
