We are arriving at the AKL on 11/3/06. We should be in MCO by 10:40. I am thinking we will get to the lodge by noon. Hopefully we can check in or we will leave our bags with Bell services until later that day. My question is what park should we go to that late in the day? We love the MK but I know my girls will want to try and ride EE at the AK. Does anyone have any ideas on a good park to hit our first day?

TIA....

I would look up to see which park has early entry (if there is one that day) and AVOID it. Because you won't be able to take advantage of the early entry and the parks will probably be more crowded...

Anyone have any thoughts on the AK, midday on a Friday?

AK should be fine that day. I just looked at the schedule and it looks like a great day to go. The good thing is, the majority of the people who go to AK leave by 3PM to park hop. You'll have less crowds, except for EE. You'll definitely want to hit EE in the last hour the park is opened (the lines are really short by then). If you want more out of AK, I suggest MK or MGM because lines will be pretty short there and they close a lot later. Then do AK in the morning. More animals are out and if you hit EE first thing, you can ride it more than once.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking of doing the AK, staying till closing then going back to the AKL to explore. Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. :)

You might also want to try MGM. It's a smaller park compared to MK and Epcot and can be toured in 8 hours or less (we did it in about 5) and they're open until 8:30 I think.

I never even thought of MGM. Thanks for the input. Do you think getting there at around 1PM would work?

I am definitely leaning towards AK. Although if the weather is nice when we get there I may upgrade our tickets to the water park / Disney Quest option. If I do that we may just go to Disney Quest on our first day. Is mid afternoon a good time to go to DQ? We have never been there and I'm thinking the girls might like it.

DisneyQuest is better during the day, yes. Unless it rains. Then it will be increedibly crowded. At about 7-8PM, kids will start flocking here. If you get there at 1-2, you'll be fine.
MGM is a great idea. Plus there's Rock n RollerCoaster and Tower of Terror not to mention some pretty cute shows. (and of course Fantasmic!)
Just don't go to Epcot on your first day. That park has EMH and will be CROWDED!!

We usually do MGM or AK if we get to WDW around lunch. Those are the two parks we usually only spend a half day in anyway. We really like DQ, but have not been in the afternoon. Since we go in the late fall, we usually go to DQ after the parks close. As long as you are not going on a Sat. or Sun. midday, you should be okay. I think more locals go to DQ on the weekends. Have fun!! :)

Sadly fantasmic is closed until 11/9. I have been back and forth about when we are going to see Fantasmic. We are going during "Jersey Week" and from what I hear, all of my fellow New jersian's will be there that week. I am thinking of doing MGM that Friday although my daughters will chomping at the bit to get there sooner then that.
