DH & I are heading down to WDW ourselves in about a month. Last time we were there we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour & enjoyed it.

We'd like to do another one this time around but aren't sure which one. Anyone have a specific tour they really enjoyed?

TIA!!!

I liked Undiscovered Future World, but I'd have enjoyed it more with a more seasoned Guide. Ours didn't really seem too confident.

From what I understand, the Segway Tour is a blast!

Wild by design at AK if you want AK trivia or Backstage safari if you like to see where the animals are kept off stage and how they are cared for. Both are excellant.

Seas aqua tour at Epcot where you learn about consevation then get to swim on top of the aquarium itself with a mini scuba tank (you dont have to know to scuba for this tour) You cant dive down just float on the surface. You can look down and see all the guests looking through the viewing windows.

Dolphins in Depth-Its more learning and you do get to interact with the dolphins but not like the other outfits out side of Disney. They are very protective of them.

Undiscovered futureworld - Go into pavillion vip lounges, ride control rooms, and see where they keep the globe and barges for illuminations.

Behind the seeds tour at Epcot - go into the green house areas and labs

Lancer,
We are also from Indiana! Imagine that! We have signed up for the Backstage Safari on Thursday the 29th and would love to have more information. What can you tell us about it? They have already made sure that I understand there will be no photography of the backstage areas, but will we be able to take photos of the 'on stage' areas? Will we see many animals or is it mostly the facilities?

Thanks in advance!

Berne isnt too far away, I am from Angola. Its been a couple of years since I took the tour but I still remember a few things. In general, the majority of it is viewing facilities and talking with some caretakers and vets but we did see some animals that were not on stage as there are always some. We saw where they keep the animals when they are not on stage, you can see some of the larger animal buildings from the train ride to conservation station. All large animals and alot of the smaller ones are brought inside every night which is why the park closes so early. There we talked to some care handlers. At the time we were able to get fairly close to an elephant in its play pen tossing a tire around. You will better appreciate it when you see it but we were told that they had to replace the doors several times because the elephants were so rough on it. We also got close to some giraffe. The AK lodge was just being built and alot of the animals we saw were specifically for its savanah. They quaranteen all animals for a month before they go on stage. We went in a warehouse where they store all the bulk food. The numbers were unbelivable. Went into one of the operating rooms and talked with a vet. Went to the office building and talk to some park castmembers. It was like a 4 hour tour so I'm forgetting alot, which is a good excuse to take it again and probably learn something new.

Hope this helps!

P.S. I have taken all but a few of the tours offered by Disney if you need any other feed back.

At "Backstage" we got to pet a rhino -- a very unique feeling! -- and rode the Kilamanjaro Safari's without the "story", with lots of insider info. Wild by Design had a lot of the rationale behind the design decisions plus a chance to talk to trainers. It's all on-stage. We loved both.
