My very first park was the Magic Kingdom :) We checked in to our room at 6pm and got straight on to a bus to the Magic Kingdom, we had dinner at Tony's restaurant whilst watching the Spectro parade pass....WOW!!

These day's our first park is usually Animal Kingdom with a character breakfast at Donalds Breakfastaurus to start the day off on a good note :)

I would have to say Magic Kingdowm, theres nothing better than catching the ferry across the lagoon and seeing the castle for the first time.

Walking up Mainstreet USA, really gives you that "Im finally here" feeling.

For us, and for some unknown reason, we always visit EPCOT first to see the "golf ball". It's something we associate with Disney just as much as the castle in Magic Kindom!

It has to be the Magic Kingdom - it's magical!

Like many people, the first park we visited was MK. These days, it tends to be Epcot and my girls give me a hard time if I try to sneak a different park into the itinerary for our first day. If you're staying offsite, though, you should choose any park which isn't the designated Early Entry park for Disney resort guests on that particular day. What day do you arrive and where are you staying?

Whichever park you visit you won't be disappointed.

We always visit MK as our first park and again as the last park before we go home.

I would say it would depend on if you want an easy 1st day or not.
MK really starts the magic off for us But it is a lot of moving around and queueing, so very busy.

but starting with Seaworld is a much slower day and easies you in to the climite better.

I think it depends on the party you are catering for.

Just go with the flow and enjoy

Hi, MK is always the first for me - the first sight of Main Street and the castle makes me feel like I'm home :D

First park has to be the Magic Kingdom, and we have to go over by the ferry. To see it in the distance getting closer and closer always gives us a tremendous feeling of how lucky we are to be there. Its a special moment.

I would suggest Sea World.

Its a nice relaxed introduction to Orlando/theme parks on a day when you may still be feeling the effects of the flight.

MK may be the highlight for you so as first timers I also wouldnt do the best first !!

I would agree that it should be MK but don't do it on the first day if you're still tired. You'll need plenty of energy so the first time we went, we went on the second day but it was the first park we visited. We did DTD and shopping on the first day. MK epitomises "Disney" and nothing can beat that feeling you'll get when you walk onto Main Street and view the castle. Whichever park you choose first, you'll have a wonderful holiday.

It is our first time to WDW but we have planned Animal Kingdom for the first day, due to time zone changes we will be able to be up early and get there in great time to have a Character Breakfast and do the safari while it is still early. I know what everyone means about the castle but I am sort of hoping to get a disney fix but without the madness of MK straight away. Everyone seems to say that Animal Kingdom is a slower paced park and that will suit us for the first day.

We can't do Seaworld because we are getting 14 day seaworld passes from Discovery cove and if we go on the first day we will mess up our plans for later on. So Animal Kingdom it is!
