Which park takes the most time to thoroughly enjoy? Rides, shows...etc

Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure?

Just trying to plan out my days.
I think we'll go the 1st half day in whatever park takes longer!

It depends on what you want to do in each park and if you are staying on site and have express access.
If you are Harry Potter fans, I'd say Island of Adventure would take longer.

Oh great question, I would love to know this also. We are HP fans and will be staying onsite with an Express Pass. We want to do as much as we can.

Staying at HRH so we will have the express pass.
We have never been to either so we want to do just about everything there is to offer!

IOA definitely takes longer in my opinion. We are not show people but it's a 60/40 split or so for us in favor of IOA taking longer.

Studios..Depending on when you go and which shows, at certain times of year the shows only run a few times a day and very often at the same times.Even some of the rides/attractions take time..Terminator and Disaster are quite long with all the preshows etc .

for me, the studios takes more time in the park.

some of the shows are scheduled at times it can conflict with other shows.
Animal Actors, Horror Make up show, Beetlejuice, Blues Brothers.

if you want to do them all, you need to plan the day around their schedules.

Lucy Tribute is interesting to go thru.
you can spend a lot of time there or breeze thru in 5 minutes.

street shows pop up at different times so you would need to spend part of the day around hollywood.

a band plays outside near the lucy tribute during the day.
i usually catch them when i eat at boulangerie.

the rides are continually loading.
do rides while waiting for the shows.

i check the park guide map when i enter the park to plan out what shows i will see that day.

working around that schedule, i do rides.

when i do ioa, the only thing that can eat up some of my time is when the marvel heros parade begins.
well that short parade and the mystic fountain.

i kill up to an hour watching and listening when the mystic fountain has an audience to entertain....

when i do longer stays in the fall, i mix up the parks and catch a few shows each day at the studios, and hit double rides on some at ioa.

www.universalorlando.com
check it out and figure which rides/shows are on your A list.
then you can figure out which park will be your half day visit.

So as mentioned..Jan= shorter park hours, lower season ( except for the large tour groups that are there) Studios will take longer if you want to do most shows. They run on a shortened schedule and often at the same time.Terminator and Disaster both take a long time to do.
