Food cost are huge at disney, esp if you are feeding 4,5,6 people. @ the MK Cosmic Rays has a 1/2 BBQ chicken that can easily feed two and the morican sit down restaurant, not the on the corner coffee shop, has a good sample platter with plenty of food. Both are around $10 or $15. Also Fort wilderness take out pizza seems to be a pretty good deal.

What places and food you find are deals at the parks or are reasonably able to feed two adults?

I actually think the food portions are getting smaller.

I remember at Disneyland there was a place like Paco Bills (next to Thunder Mountain RR) where we could get a half a chicken, a huge corn muffin, beans and rice for about $12. It would feed both DH and me and we would have some left over sometimes.

The name escapes me now.

But you can't find that anymore. The burgers seem to be thinner and the sides seem to be fewer.

I can easily eat an entire salad and they don't come with a side of bread anymore.

Portions have indeed grown smaller, even with lapband surgery I could finish a whole salad in July. I saw very few items that would have been easily able to be shared without supplementing with additional snacks for two adults.

Cosmic Rays was the first to come to mind when I saw thread. We also like the casual Mexican place along the lake at Epcot. The BBQ sandwiches at Animal Kingdom are a favorite and are usually shared. I don't like the change from fries to chips.

We haven't been to WDW for two years but it certainly USED to be Cosmic Rays where one meal (for about $10-$12) was a 1/2 chicken AND 1/2 slab of ribs.

DH and I would split it and STILL not be able eat it all!

We like the 1/2 chicken meal at Cosmic Ray's. (not crazy about the same meal with ribs add - on)

The portions at the Yak and Yeti counter service are very big too. I liked the orange chicken there.

Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom - the Pizza with side salad works for DH and I. I eat the salad and small piece of the pizza, he eats the rest of the pizza. We are both full - for a lunch meal.

Is this true? do fries not come with the meals anymore?

Wolfgang Puck Express at DD also has a great roasted chicken with mashed potatoes that goes along away. We're also usually able to share a meal at Tangierine Cafe (Morocco) and Flame Tree BBQ.

I have heard trails end is the best bang for your buck but I haven't ate there myself.

I am eating at Plaza Inn at MK on my next trip - first time and I am looking forward to it. I looked at the prices and decided for the extra few bucks I would like to eat there rather than CS the night we go to MNSSHP.
