We had fun riding Kali River Rapids in the rain. One of our favorite memories is being the only people riding BTMRR (not just our train, the entire ride) while it was pouring rain.
I hate being in the Magic Kingdom when it rains but they actually have lots of indoor rides so it seems like a good bet. I'd say the worst one to be in would probably be Animal Kingdom.
Epcot can be ok, especially FutureWorld, if you spend time in the buildings. You can do Soarin, LWTL, even that movie, eat at Sunshine Seasons, all in one building. Same for Nemo and the aquarium and Turtletalk. Etc.
We were at AK once in the rain. The good news was that crowds were so low we walked into everything. The bad news was that Everest was closed. This is our favorite so we were sad.
I was thinking DHS would not be the place to go because of the outdoor shows and fewest rides?
Would probably cause us to spend more time on things in FutureWorld then we normally would because of things indoors.
Wasn't sure about AK and MK just has a bunch of rides anyway.
We were at DHS in the rain and it was fine. We went from indoor show to indoor show to toy story mania. My kids are too little for the other rides. It actually worked out nicely.
We've been at DHS, Epcot and MK in the rain and DHS was definitely the best. Small park so attractions are fairly close together, and most of the queues and attractions are indoors. Very little time actually out in the rain, like at MK or even Epcot.
I've had a nice time in all the parks in the rain. WS at EPCOT was the most difficult...we got stuck in a DOWNPOUR between Intermissions and France on our way to an ADR at Chefs de France. We were in our ponchos with umbrellas but totally SOAKED by the time we got to France. There was no where to hide and the rain was bouncing off the ground wetting us upsidedown!
AK was super humid but it actually looked really cool with the pavement steaming...sort of felt like a hot yoga sesh.
This. For persistent rain, nothing beats Epcot. It gives you time to slow down and enjoy all the nooks and crannies in the FW pavilions and the countries. For example, we can spend 2 hours in the Living Seas pavilion, and 30 solid minutes in the museum in Japan. And another hour in the Mitsukoshi department store. And if the storm is going to last only an hour, you can kill almost that entire length of time in Ellen's Energy Adventure. Some of our most fulfilling days at Epcot have been ones where there was ankle deep rain on the walkways. But note that Test Track will close while it rains.
