Which park for a quick intro to US?

On our arrival day we have tickets to see BMG at 7:30. I was thinking the kids (3 boys ages 4-11) might want to have an hour or so at the park before we go (end of April if that matters...).

Which park would be easiest to navigate for a "quickie"? Is there one you'd pick over the other for this and why?

I was thinking for the following day, our first "real" day, we'd go to IOA first. Not sure why...

We will be staying onsite if that matters.

Thanks for all your advice! I feel like a fish out of water trying to figure out US after so many years at WDW!

If you go into IOA you have 2 choices that all of you can do. You can go to the left, do Spiderman then the Popeye/Bluto Bilge Rat barges, get them totally soaked and stoked for tomorrow. Or you can go right and check out Dr. Seuss which is more kidsy. You will also get a tease by letting them get a glimpse of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

If you would rather try Universal first they can enter, go straight and get on the Jimmy Neutron ride then Men In Black. They are at opposite ends of the park, which means you would have to make a complete circle around to ride them, allowing the kids to get a glimpse of things to come. If you finish MIB and it's a few minutes before closing you can get in line for The Simpsons or Jaws, which would be about the same distance away but in opposite directions. As long as you are in line before the park closes they will let you ride. You could try the same thing with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit but the 4-year old may be too short and it wouldn't be any fun for him. Check the height requirements on the Universal Orlando website. That should give them a thing or 2 to think about for the next day.
