Hi!!! I'm going with a bunch of 9-12th graders, in about 3 more weeks. We only can go to one park, and we can decided which park to go until the day we go to the park Which park is the best to go??? I think IOA, but seem like you will get wet. If so, will they be able to change to their swimwear before they get on the wide, if swimwear is allow?

Thanks!!!!

My two daughters (13 and 16) love IOA. I think it is the better park for teenagers. And you will get wet on some of the rides. I've seen people wear bathing suits. My daughters wore there's with shorts and a tee shirt over them. There is a place on the rapids ride where you can store your shoes and bag so they don't get wet. I like to bring a hand towel from the hotel with me in my bag. You can use it to dry off. It will probably be so hot, you will enjoy getting wet.

Have fun!

Bless You for taking a bunch of teenagers !!!!!!

I agree, my 9th grader enjoyed IOA a little more. We carried hand towles in our back pack and just let the sun do the trick. One tip, don't wear jean shorts they take the longest to dry ( like the next day)

Have a good trip

DS, 14, says IOA, but he would really miss MIB since it is he favourite.

I agree with Damo's DS! I would miss MIB! But I would miss Spiderman WAAAAAAY more so go with IOA!! Have fun!

I'd say IOA/ It's got more thrill rides, which is what many teens love. And you can bring/wear swimsuits, I see it all the time.

Definitely IOA. We went to US on our senior trip (before IOA was open) and were not overly impressed with the rides back then. IOA is definitely more fast paced and has better rides (with the exception of MIB) for teens. There are only 3 rides that you can get wet on. Jurassic Park gets you no wetter than a flume ride, with Dudley Do-Rights getting you wet. Bluto's Barge on the other hand, gets you SOAKED. I mean, your shirt is still wet hours afterwards, even if you stand in the sun all day. A change of clothes or a bathing suit with shorts (I do not believe that they would allow a teenager in just a bathing suit on the rides) would be a really good suggestion.

There are $5 lockers at the front of the park that you can rent for the entire day. Someone mentioned that there are also lockers near the Rip Saw Falls exit, but those are temporary. The teens could bring a change of cloths and store it in the lockers up front, or just leave a change of cloths on the bus.
The only ride that really soaks you is Popeye. Guys can take off their shirts, and if you get in the ride fast enough, you can put your shoes and socks in the middle compartment, but you must be wearing shoes as you enter the ride. The girls can do the same thing if they have a bathing suit on.
You'll eventually dry off after walking around. The key is to keep your shoes and socks dry, otherwise, your feet get waterlogged.

They'll definately have more fun at IOA. If you can plan the trip so you're there at 8am, then do it. The problem with tour bus trips, is that they arrive at 11am, and that's when the park is most busy. My daughter went with her school and they didn't get on many rides. Why? The lines we're 1 hour, and the kids have no way to get an express pass. So they ended up walking around and playing games most of the time.

I'm not the sponser, but according to the itinerary, they will be there Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm, that should give them plenty of enuff time.

Also, where in the park, can you hide when it start raining. I know there is going to be some kind of storm/shower, during the day.

You can always try to get into one of the indoor attractions, such as Poseidon's Fury. Or, hopefully, the rain will arrive around lunch or dinner time. We had lunch in Jurassic Park at the take-out counter and their seating area was covered so we sat out the rain there.

IOA!

I just love that park!!

saying you will get wet is an understatement...you will get SOAKED! Dudley is a doozie! :p my mom and I rode Dudley a 2nd time and my mom sat in the front and soaked from head to toe...no part of her was dry at all...her hair was dripping! it was SOOO funny! on Dudley they have walls so the water splashes back on you. and then Popeye! HAHAHAHA! that's another doozie! I got soaked from all the cannons and waterfalls!

anyway...back to swimsuits...I wear cotton shorts(b/c they dry a lot faster than jean shorts) and wore my bathing suit top under a tank...when we went on a waterride, I would take off my shirt and put it in our back to make sure it didn't get wet. I walked around without my shirt on until we went inside(I did it in hope of drying and then I did dry and we went BACK on the water rides! LOL) I also wore flip-flops so I could take them off when we rode water rides as well.

Somehow, this doesn't sound as cool coming from an adult.
Just wait 'til they add audio to the boards!

And who told you I was an adult, anyway?;)

It's funny...

last year when I was 14 I loved IOA better...but this year I love US better.

But I have the AP, just like I did last year.

If they've never been to either, I'd say IoA only because they may see the coasters and get excited and then end up going to US with no coasters or big thrill rides.

Of course you would miss out on great things like MIB, Ghostbusters show (any teenage girl would love it!!!! hehe I've seen it like a hundred times) and Horror Make-up Show, as well as some of the classic rides.

But IOA has the coasters, Spiderman, Dr. Dooms Fear Fall, and yes a couple water rides.

So, probably IOA.
