We will have only one day at one of the Universal parks. Which do you think would appeal more to a 17 yo male? He will be with 4 40-50ish folks and maybe one might be brave enough for the wild coasters. Two of us have been to both and preferred IOA, but who knows? Your opinions please?

Definately IOA. Certainly he wouldn't be able to resist all those great coasters, thrills rides and water rides. Simply the best! :)

I just took my l7yo daugter to both parks in March. We probably spent more time at IOA riding spriderman, coasster, Dr Seuss rides. She also loved Men in Black ride at Universal, which your boys would really like. Maybe you can get one of those one-day two parks tickets I hear are being offered now.

IOA definitely has better meals for the teen appetite, as well. Your AAA card will give you l0% off most everying including food, tickets, merch. Also Discover card gives a ticket discount.

IOA is the BEST theme park I've ever been at. It's rides are awesome and the theming is just gorgeous. There's no comparison.

Well I didnt think we could have a good IOA vs USF topic without my 2 cents ;) I do think that IOA is a far superior park for anyone but especially a teen. I have also been thinking about my constant USF bashing. I have downloaded alot of the videos and pics off Digital Universal (the best by far) and maybe some rides are better than I thought (MIB, BTTF, T2-3D) and some are worse than I thought (Kongfrontation, Earthquake, ET). Now looking at IOA videos and pics I have come to the conclusion that IOA is an even better park on repeat trips. Still for the whole Universal experience I gotta go with IOA all the way!

Well... being a teen myself... (18 to be exact, but 17 last year when we went)... I would have to go with the majority vote on this one as well. I enjoyed US, especially Men in Black, but I felt like I waited in longer lines for less impressive rides. I mean... they were ok, but nothing compared to IOA! I think he would have a blast there. And there are other rides besides the coasters if he doesn't like them... but the coasters are awesome! It is a teen heaven. I loved it! Have fun!
