Which park first?

Hi! First time going to US. My question is which park to go to first? We will be going on November 10 and will be there before park opening with tickets in hand. WWHP is the main reason we are going. I've read to save it for the end of the day near closing. But we would like to be done with both parks by 4:00. Is this even possible? Thanks!

We've always done the Universal side first and then IOA and WWoHP.

We can usually get through US by 12:30 when we get there at opening. This is by attractions only, no shows, beverages only and of course a washroom break or two. We've never found a need for Express Pass either, you might not either since it shouldn't be super busy when you're there.

Soon as we get to IOA we head straight to WWoHP and do single rider line for FJ. While we don't always get to ride together, sometimes one or two of us together or sometimes all as singles, doesn't matter cause you can't even see who you are with on the ride due to the way the chairs/restraints are designed. After that we'll get lunch at Three Broomsticks, then probably back on FJ once or twice more before continuing on with the rest of the WWoHP and the remainder of the park.

Works for us .... might for you too.

Awesome! Thanks so much. We aren't interested in seeing any shows so that hopefully will help with us wanting to be out by 4:00.

you don't say if you are staying onsight. if so you may want to hit wwohp first. since they do not have fotl. then use fotl for the other attractions. I believe you would be able to see more that way

You will only be able to do the highlights of both parks on that tight schedule. It always troubles me when first time visitors feel the need to rush through the two parks instead of giving them due credit for a full day each. But...whatever works for you.

Not staying on site. I've read that the crowds shouldn't be bad this time of year.

I don't feel that I NEED to rush through the parks. My preferred time to leave isn't set in stone so if we stay a bit longer its no big deal. But we do have plans later that evening. It's the one day we can fit it in so I'd rather go and do the major highlights than not go at all. :)

Even in low Crowds that is going to be tight.Even if you skip the shows.Something to remember is It isn't just the waits for the rides, alot of the rides/attractions have preshows etc. At the Studios things like Despicable Me, Shrek, Terminator, DIsaster ,Twister,Simpsons take longer to do since they all have preshows of some sort. Some have really long ones. For example :Disaster is part audience participation, part show, part ride. The signature ride portion is at the very end of it.The attraction takes approx 25 mins to experience NOT including any wait in the queue you might have. Also keep in mind that some of these rides are technically advanced and also have glitches/technical difficulties on and off that can happen and put a damper on your day and eat up time. The 2 that this happend the most on on our visit were Transformers and Harry Potter (moreso Transformers since it is so new)But it also happened to us on forbidden journey 2x last month. In 4 parks days we only managed Transformers ONCE ( it went down so often that even express pass had huge waits and we managed to get on a 2nd time only to have it breakdown while on it)and Forbidden Journey 2x and that was not without trying multiple times. All these things can eat up time .Just be aware of this and plan for it.Also..I know you werent planning on shows, but The horror and Makeup show at the studios is fantastic and over at WWoHP they do have the Triwizard pep rally and the frog choir perform. They do not publish showtimes for it and you either need to ask an employee over there when it might perform again or just get lucky and be there when it starts

Well good...I hope it works out for you.
