Which park first?

My kids are early risers so originally I was planning to just go to whichever park has morning EMH. However on our first day that park is DHS and TSM will be closed. This also our first visit. Since we're not into thrill rides we won't be doing ToT or RnrC (sorry I may not have that abbreviation right). So, there are not a lot of must dos for us at DHS. I'm wondering if on our first full day on our first visit it would be better to do Epcot or MK where we have lots of things we want to do and will have energy that first day.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Both Epcot and Mk are AMAZING, but for Kids, MK is typically just unreal.

I'd suggest doing epcot first, as they'll love it. Then do MK and its even better. If you do MK first they may want to just go back there every day.

both parks are simply amazing. i love them both.

In my opinion theres no place on earth like MK and Epcot at night.

There are only 5 attractions open for morning EMH at DHS - 3 of which are TSM, RnRC, and ToT.

That only leaves you with Star Tours and the Muppets for that first hour. So, yes, I think another park would probably be a better choice for that day.

I think you are wise in your reasoning to forgo Morning EMH at DHS,mainly because of the closure of Toy Story Mania.:)

Personally,I would "jump into the Magic" with both feet and go to Magic Kingdom.:)Try to be at Magic Kingdom around 8:30.

Guests are let through the Turnstiles into an area in front of the Train Station to await the opening "show",Magic Kingdom Welcome. This is a great time for picture taking.

Magic Kingdom Welcome begins at 8:50 and is GREAT!:)

FYI,here is an old Morning EMH Times Guide. The list of attractions is mostly,if not completely, the same now.:)

I agree with gdad66 about not going to DHS EMH.

As for which park first, since this is a first visit, I would go to Epcot first. Reason being that kids usually like the MK best, so you don't want to take them first and chance having them a bit disappointed at the other parks.

For a first time visitor, Magic Kingdom! They don't call it Magic for no reason. :thumbsup2

always the Magic Kingdom! There is nothing that compares to the reaction (both yours and the kids) to walking down Main Street toward Cinderella's Castle. It truly is magical!

Our next trip will be number 15 and every single one has started at the Magic Kingdom. There are three things that signal the real start of a Disney Vacation: Driving under the Welcome to Walt Disney World sign, entering the resort and breathing Disney air, and seeing the Castle. Until these have happened the fun cannot begin.

I'd suggest doing epcot first, as they'll love it. Then do MK and its even better. If you do MK first they may want to just go back there every day.
I agree. If kids witness the scope and showmanship of Magic Kingdom first, they may act out or complain of boredom when they go to parks where the attractions are more subtle, like Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

MK is great, but if you do it after Epcot or AK, it will likely exceed your family's expectations. If you do MK first, your family may be disappointed in all the other parks, which IMO are still packed with charm and entertainment.

My kids love each park differently. MK is our 1st if at all possible. We avoid EMH mornings, b/c we find them to be very crowded, but if you get there early & get out when the crowds pick up, you'll be fine.

If you are worried about your kids getting into Epcot, do the Kidcot stations in each country where they make mask, do little crafts, get stamps on their mask, etc. It's a great "freebie." It's a great way to experience the countries & give them a chance to interact w/ CMs from the various countries. The Kim Possible Adventure is also a great way to get kids to move around the countries.

Have great trip! :thumbsup2
