Okay now normally I would know what park to go to first 2nd ect....but since being on these boards I have amorally confused myself (it seems to happen often) now don't get me wrong I love, love , love all the information but now I am bent on having the perfect strategy (note I did not say perfect vacation.....too much pressure )

So where to go first? A little background

Me, DH and two DD's that are 7 and 4. The girls have been to WDW before, DH has not. We will be at WDW parks for 5 days 7 nights...so what would be the best "flow" of what to see first? I worry that if we do MK first the girls will not be interested in everything else....but if we don't do MK first they will only be whining to go there

Help!!!!
:sad2:

For me the vacation really doesn't begin until the kids have seen the castle. So, I would have to say the Magic Kingdom. However, we have also run into not wanting to go anywhere else once we've hit the Magic Kingdom. The remedy we have devised for that is to create a paper chain, one link for each day until our trip. Each morning one of the kids pulls a link and each of them gets to make a ride choice for that day. I keep a running tally of the selections and take the list with us on the trip. When they start whining about not wanting to go anywhere else I pull out the list and remind them of all the things they wanted to see. They pretty quickly change their minds and are ready to move on to the next thing son the list.

If they are into science and learning about that kind of stuff or even if they just like to explore, I'd choose EPCOT first. Otherwise I'd take um to MGM because they have some real interesting attraction and shows. Save MK as the lats park you visit. ;)

I would take the children to Epcot the first day being sure to see the 3-D show and the attractions at the Living Seas (new Nemo ride, etc.); the Studios the second day being sure to see the Beauty and the Beast Show, the Mermaid show and Fantasmick; The Animal Kingdom the third day being sure to see The Lion King Show (and the new Nemo Musical show if it's running by the time you get there): and save the Magic Kingdom till last.

I don't see how you can miss.

Enjoy.

I would do MK last with AK, Epcot and MGM in that order. That's how I have my trip planned but then again many disers say that they can't wait that long to get to the MK, so do what you think is best for your family.

To me, I have to visit the Magic Kingdom first. I cannot thoroughly enjoy the other parks until I have gone to MK. It is my absolute favorite!
JMHO

I know all the books say don't do MK first. I always ignore that.

I always do MK first, and especially if I was taking someone for the first time, you will probably come back on a 2nd day anyway for that park so you could do the 2nd visit last. Going to MGM first, no offense to anyone who disagrees, is kind of like wanting to see a Polka band right before you go to a Van Halen concert. I would also highly recommend you putting in a couple of days at Universal. I'm taking my girlfriend and her little girl soon, she has never been there, so its MK first for her, but I would rather her see Univ. than MGM, we are skipping MGM altogether for several days at Universal. She will probably end up liking Suess Landing at Universal better than anything at Disney.

I would go to Epcot first. Your kids can meet the characters at the character connection and you won't have to stand in line at MK to do this. Since all my daughter wants to do is meet characters, Epcot was the best place to do it. When we went to MK the second day we got to enjoy the rides and attractions without hearing "I wanna see Mickey" all day. I never spend a whole day at MGM or AK, so I plan those for later in the trip when we're needing to slow down a little. Have fun plannng!

first day seems to always be a late start so we do MK but if its a whole day we would go too AK its my fav. hands down then EPCOT and we are skipping MGM till we go with everyone in Aug my DDs didn't like it much :confused3

We have to go to Magic Kingdom first. I don't know, it just makes me feel like we are finally there (in the world) Cheesy, but gotta see the castle first. pixiedust:

IMHO, I don't like to rush to MK on the first day because I like the anticipation. For our two trips, we've done AK on the first day with a trip to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue that night.

I respectfully disagree with the people that say you're not truly at Disney until you visit MK. I think Disney is all around us when you're on property. I feel like I'm truly at Disney the minute I enter property.

AK is a perfect place for the first day. You get to experience Disney magic without it being really overwhelming. You see characters, you experience a parade and you get to ride a few rides. In between, you can see some animals.

And to me, the Hoop-Dee-Doo is like our official "Welcome to Disney" party. It's a lot of clapping, singing, laughing and eating. That just screams Disney to me.

I like to always take that first day kind of easy, just to adjust to being there. I really think if we headed straight to MK, it might burn us out too quickly.

MK is our second day with Epcot and then MGM, and then always a return trip to MK to finish our trip.

We always do Epcot first in our family..its our favorite park :goodvibes and if they find it boring, it can only get better right :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I actually laughed out loud at that statement (in a good way)

Thanks everyone for your opions, I really appreciate it. I guess I will have to weigh the options and see what the girls and DH think.

THanks again.

Mk, always 1st. My DD and DH went for the first time last May, and neither of them complained one bit. We always start with MK, end with MK or go to MK toward the end of the week.
All of the parks are exciting for all ages and they get excited about what you pump them up about so just be excited and they'll follow suit.

don't know which first(MGM,AK,EPCOT,MK) my choice. always finish with the magic last. you will never forget those memorys. IMO

I know I am probably in the minority but I go to my least favorite park, AK. I do this for a couple of reasons. 1) I usually start on Monday and AK is less crowded. 2) If I do my least favorite park first, I can get it out of the way and I can build up the anticipation for my more favorite parks.
