Hi

What packages would you choose?
Does it take the sparkle out of it if you take your own costume and how far in advance should i book. I want to do bb or lunch at castle after which would you choose and what times.

Thanks

I am taking DD(9) for the first time in June. We ordered the mid-priced package with hair, makeup, nails. I don't know about your 8 year-old, but mine is too big for the shoes and really doesn't care about the wand. Why would I pay such a high price for the most expensive package--it just didn't make sense to me. Also, I understand about the dress. My daughter wants to be Belle--I found the exact dress sold at WDW on Ebay and gave it to her for Christmas. It was about $10 cheaper, which was not my concern because if I would have bought her a different dress, I would not save any money because then she would still want the "real" dress from WDW. Since she needs the largest size sold, I wanted to make sure that I had it. She is so excited about wearing her dress before she even gets there!

As for time, could not help you--we are going to the DTD location the day before we "officially" arrive to our on-site location. Staying at DoubleTree in DTD on arrival day and have CRT breakfast the next day after checking in to BCV. I figure her hair will be fine and will just touch-up her makeup.princess:

We did the middle package (I believe it is called the crown package) last time and are doing it when we go in a few weeks as well. We took our own dress and shoes last time and it was just as magical. In fact, most of the girls I saw brought their own dresses. We will be doing it again this time. We are doing BBB at the castle first thing in the AM and are then having breakfast at CRT. I would make your ADR's first so you know how to paln when to do BBB but then I would get BBB reserved so you can get the time you want. Enjoy! My DD absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again!

We did the least expensive package because my DD was 4 and she would have just peeled off the polish or fake nails by the next day. She really didn't care about my getting the dress and shoes beforehand and bringing them with us. She talked me in to getting the plastic pumps from the disney website and they made her feet sweat horribly in September. Before we even left DTD I had persuaded her to switch to wearing her blue crocs with her Cinderella dress. We went to MNSSHP after her appointment so I'm not sure about the timing for going to dinner at the castle. I did book her appointment months in advance when I was booking all of our ADRs.

We did the least expensive package the first time than we did the castle package the next time but only b/c we planned on buying a new costume while we were there for that trip. Now speaking of this or eating at CRT that would be a hard decision my dd7 said she would rather do BBB but she is so into that kind of stuff and we have eaten at the castle a few times. Are you on the ddp truthfully I like the breakfast at norway better than the one at the castle. Its alittle bit cheaper and if you are on the ddp it is only 1 credit. If you click the thread link in my sig you will find lots of photos.

I just booked bbb for my 5yo. I ordered the Cinderella dress and shoes off the disney shopping website. She is getting the middle package and can't wait!!!1

Can you give me an idea of what times you have booked bbb and crt for, how far in advance can you book, it is same as dining 180 days.

Thanks

They can and really should if you want good times be booked 180 days in advance. You can call 407.wdw.dine and make the ressie for both at the same time.

We did the package with the dress, shoes, tiara and scepter...and the hair, nails and makeup. my daughter turned 4 in October and she LOVED it! We had ressies for 11:10am for BBB and lunch ressies for CRT at 1:30pm and made it just in time for lunch when you include walking to the FRONT of the park for your picture sitting and pickup and then back. We also did it in the slow season...second week of December. I am SO doing it again. It was wonderful and my 18yo son even had an appt and had his hair done in the cool dude style. :goodvibes

Do they give you an allocated time or you are there until finished. I know most people say do middle package but I just want to surprise the girls and I think if I buy and pack the dresses I just think it will take away the surprise and the magic. Do they have lots of different dresses and sizes and do they ge shoes too.

With the castle package they get dress, shoes, wand, crown, makeover, and a pack of pictures It takes 45+/- minutes for each person just for the makeover part. If you finish the makeover part and don't have time for the pics you can do them after lunch. You can also do them regardless of whether you do the castle package. The castle package is no more magical than the others and is really only practical if you want to buy a outfit. Each costume runs from xxs up to a 9-10 and some as high as 14. At 180+tax each vs. 49.95 each you also need to decide which is magical for your budget. Keep this in mind primarily the shoes aren't comfy for walking at home much less disney, the costumes as pretty as they are are itchy and depending on your dds them may not want to keep them on long. The wand is decoration that if you are lucky the won't break before you leave the park. So think about these things I have done both packages w/ my dd the first time was the basic package and the second was for her bday we did the castle package and they both one just as magical as the other.

Thanks for the info has helped a lot. One last question do you dress the girls before they go to BBB or do they get changed once had hair/makeup done.

I have the crown package booked for my DD7 and also booked for my DS3( Ithink they call it the cool dude)
They are very excited, we are booked forJanuary 21st at 11:40 with lunch in the castle at 1:35. We also have tickets for the Pirate and Princess party that night!:yay:
It will be a long day, I think I will try to get my son to nap after lunch!

You can do either they can change into their dress at BBB just like they would if you were buying there or you can let them wear the dress there which ever is easiest for your. Also if you want a dress from disney they consider just purchasing the dress they start around 60 and go up like the deluxe dress are around 90 these include Wedding cinderella (I don't know if they still have this dress it was only there for cinderellabration), wedding ariel, belle's red dress (only there during xmas), minnies blue dress (rumor has it that they only carried this dress for the first year of a million dreams and will not carry this year :sad1: ). Another option you may want to consider now ordering from disneyshopping.com their dresses are now 50% off if you think the large size belle in the outlet would fit your dd w/ the additional discount it is 14.99 we bought that dress for dd for halloween and she loves it b/c it looks just like belles dress. Costume shoes and two piece wand set 44.43 in cart and shipping over 50 is 5 dollars.

My four yo wore her costume all day long with no complaints until we took it off her to go to bed. I for one never said it was more magical to pay for the most expensive package, I saw girls getting all the different ones and all of them where enjoying themselves. As far as the shoes, Meghan got the multicolored sequin shoes and they are nice! They where $28 and she even wears them to school now that she is back. She picked, okay, we...lol...picked the Belle Christmas dress. This is not something I could do everyday, spending over $200 like that, but it was one of her Christmas presents and mine too. Our whole family enjoyed it. As soon as I find the cord thingy to my camera I will have my son dl the pics and show me how to show them here. He is 18 and had the Cool Dude done to his hair...he loved it! He received a lot of cool comments. Our appointment was 11:10 and we where taken back I think within 15 minutes or so. I wanted pics BEFORE we ate, she is 4 and I worried she would spill something on her dress. The only pain was having to get from the back of the castle to TTS to get the pics taken, but they did it in a efficient and friendly matter. I just really enjoyed it. Not just watching my children getting it done, but all the other children and families. It was just awesome!:goodvibes

HA! I was going to look for this great thread on BBB and Cancer Survivor has it in her signature! Best thread ever. :lovestruc
