My husband and I are looking for a place to have a nice dinner the day we fly in. We are not starting the parks until the next day so we are trying to decide where to have diinner that is outside of a park. Either a resort, Boardwalk or DTD restaurant suggedstion would be very appreciated! Thanks!

By the way we have ressies for the following:

Kona - Breakfast
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
Chefs de France - Lunch
San Angel Inn -Dinner
California Grill - Dinner

Possibly Crystal Palace for Breakfast or Dinner.

Please feel free to let me know what you think!

We are going to try Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yachts Club this October. I've heard many nice things about it and we LOVE steak.

I've heard nice things about Ohana's but we still haven't tried it yet.

I also enjoy CG but you are already eating there. ;)

For a delicious meal in a nice atmosphere with excellent service, try Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge.

If you would like to spend time afterward walking around DD, then I'd recommend Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

We love Boatwright's at POR. It seems to be a mixed bag of reviews but was wonderful for us. Maybe a stroll around the resort after - it is lovely . Or a carriage ride. A nice relaxing way to start your trip.

There are so many wonderful choices. If you give us a little more guidance we could probably help you more.

But near where you are staying, Kona and Grand Floridian Cafe serve wonderful dinners at a decent price and both resorts are fun to explore. Citricos and Narcoosee's at the GF are also excellent but more expensive.

At DTD we love Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Raglan Road.

But do you want a quiet atmosphere or busy, expensive or not so much?

Well we were hoping for good food, maybe a fun atmosphere, money not a huge issue just not too expensive. Thanks again for your help!

I'm trying Cali Grille at the top of the Comtemporary this year :woohoo: . I've heard so many wonderful things about it and if you catch the timing right you can watch wishes from up there pixiedust: (they pipe in the music). From what I understand even if you don't catch the right time for the fireworks they allow you to go up later and watch them as long as you were a guest for dinner that evening :yay: . You mentioned the Boardwalk, if you are staying over there then you may want to try the Flying Fish :fish: or Spoodles. :sunny: :cutie: :sunny:

I vote for either Spoodles or Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. You can have fun walking on the Boardwalk after dinner and seeing the entertainers. We like grabbing a snack from the Bakery to have for breakfast the next morning.

Spoodles is superior to the Flying Fish.

Every year we also select Spoodles. Easily our favorite place to eat at WDW outside of parks.

I do have to sa, if you're planning a late meal - California Grill on top of Contemporary is a tremendous experience. Be sure to go out on the patio for THE best view of the fireworks!!

have a Magical Day,

Andy

My vote would be for Spoodles - that's what we did our first night there and what we're planning on for next time - it was such a nice restaurant - great food, and then we strolled around The Boardwalk - very nice and relaxing for a first day. If you just wanted to go eat, though - O'Hana's is delicious and great atmosphere.

There are so many great choices!

If you like seafood, Flying Fish on the Boardwalk or Blue Zoo at the Dolphin would both be excellent choices. For steak, there's Yachtsman Steak House at the Yacht Club. Citrico's and Spoodles would also be good choices. At DTD, there's Portobello Yacht Club or Wofgang Puck Cafe.

Any of these would be a great choice for your first night's dinner.

Hi!

My suggestions would be either:

1. Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk - ALWAYS great food, great service and you can have a wonderful time watching the entertainers on the Boardwalk after dinner or visit Jellyrolls for fantastic dueling pianos.

2. Jiko at AKL - wonderful food and atmosphere. Very romantic resort. Walk out back door of resort to observe animals in the evening or sit in rocking chairs in front of the fire pit.

3. California Grill at Cont. - Beautiful view of Magic Kingdom and fireworks. Really gets you in the Disney spirit.

Have a blast on your trip!! :wizard:

I would suggest Jiko at AKL. Great food and atmosphere and a beautiful resoirt

We are HUGE fans of Wolfgang Puck Cafe. We make sure to eat there at least once every trip. The food and service are always good (if you like sushi, there's is some of the best I've ever had). We've never had a bad meal there.

We had a great meal at Raglan Road on our last trip and will be eating there again this trip, but I'm nervous about recommending it because I've seen many complaints on there boards about it. It is loud, and in our opinion, fun, with good entertainment if you're seated in the right place at the right time.

If you're looking for something a little fancier, I recommend Artist's Point or Citricos. Both have been pleasant surprises for us in recent months -- we'd never eaten at either before and loved them both. Great meals, fantastic service and WONDERFUL atmosphere. In both cases, ask for a window seat when you check in as the views are wonderful. Especially loved the buffalo at Artist Point and the Apple Margarita at Citricos.

So many choices, so little time...

I recommend Wolfgang Puck Cafe in Downtown Disney. YOu can eat then browse through the shops.

For our first night we always go to DTD and usually eat at Rain Forest Cafe. However, we have just relaxed and gone to Earl of Sandwich too. Nothing fancy, but can't beat the price at Earl of Sandwich.

My two favorites are Boma at AKL or Flying Fish on the Boardwalk.
