Which one for 12 year old's birthday?

We are going to Disney World in August just before DS11's 12th b-day. Any suggestions on which of our ADR's are the best to celebrate? The ADR's are all made, but I have not let them know of any special celebration yet.

Does your son know about the trip? Maybe you could let him decide. I let my girls look at the menus and choose one restaurant each. DD13 chose Coral Reef and DD17 chose CRT to my surprise. Your son may surprise you too.

He knows. He and his brother together chose Sci-Fi and Ohana. Does anyone know if either of these do anything for a birthday? Thanks

I would not do CP (Pooh and friends) with a 12 year old boy. Our DS loves Ohana's.

It's hit or miss whether they will make a fuss over a birthday unless you order a cake yourself, and then you'll know that his birthday will have a good celebration at whichever restaurant you pick. There is a thread about ordering birthday cakes on the top of the Restaurants page.

I voted for Chef Mickey's because I think that a character meal is unique to WDW and it has a fun and festive atmosphere. O'hana would be a close second place. : )

At Sci-Fi in February, they gave DD(11) a huge hot fudge sundae with a candle and had the entire car sing to her. We celebrated 2 times. The other was Chef Mickeys. The waitress gave us 2 choices of celebration times to choose from. At our appointed time they brought her a special decorated cupcake with a candle. Minnie came over and stood with her until she blew out the candle. At this time the whole restaurant is celebrating and swinging their napkins.It was great fun!

I'd choose the Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. They really go all-out on the birthday boys and girls.
