Which one do you think would be cheaper?

We live in Montgomery, AL. It usually takes us about 9 hours to get to WDW. I'm not sure of the exact mileage, b/c DH always drives. I just noticed that Southwest has a deal for $44 one way from B-ham to Orlando. (It only takes us an hour to get to B-ham.)

With as much as gas has been lately, and as much as it threatens to go up by July, I'm trying to decide which one is more feasible. (Right now gas is about 3.39) There are 3 of us, all paying adult fare.

I have to say that getting to WDW in an hour and a half sounds tempting...:rolleyes1

Opinions??

Depends also on type of car you are driving. If you have anything that gets under 30mpg highway like most SUV or minivans, I would probably fly. The time, the lessened aggravation and wear and tear on car makes it worth it for me.
But the other thought is are you then going to have to get a rental car when you get there? If you are staying on Disney property, then flying makes sense. If you are not, then driving may be better as a rental car will increase your costs.
Hope that helps.
