Hi guys,
OK I have stayed at CSR twice and have another ressie in October to stay there, however, I am now thinking of switching to POFQ instead of CSR to try something different because I love the style of New Orleans.....just would love some convincing from you POFQ lovers....thanks guys.

Just returned on Friday from POFQ and fell in love with it! We plan on staying there again our next trip. Very small and quaint--I'm sure you'll be happy there!

We have stayed at POR & POFQ, but have visited all of the moderates. The themeing is great at all of them, but POFQ is our favorite moderate because of it size. You are not more than five minutes from anything; buses, pool, food court. Also, you are only a 10 minute walk from POR. It's like getting two for the price of one!

Can't speak to the POFQ, except to say that we've stayed at the CSR and we are going to POFQ next month to stay somewhere new. Everyone's positive comments about the size and beauty of the resort convinced us to take a chance. Plus, my son fell in love with the pics of the pool. Didn't hurt that the rooms were just redone.

We are eating in the parks for most meals, so the lack of full service rest. wasn't a big deal to us.

Hope you'll take a chance like we are... regardless, have fun! :earboy2:

Never stayed at CSR, but absolutely love POFQ. Give it a try. I'm sure you'll love it.

I like them both. We have now stayed at all 4 moderates. I really like POFQ for the size and the fact that you are generally the first on and the first off on the buses to most places and the fact that there is a boat ride to downtown disney.

I do like the atmosphere at CSR and the fact that you have different regions and that there sand beaches and hamocks that we spent some time at. Since it is a convention resort, we generally never found the buses or the resort overly crowded. Nice that they have high speed internet access and wireless in the building. I didn't like their food court.

My least favorite was CBR. Can not pin it down why I didn't like it.

We are going to Disney the beginning of November. At first were going to stay off grounds, but are now considering one of the moderate hotels. One reason is because we expect to come back early afternoon for some down time & then return at night and are afraid we couldn't do that with off grounds hotels (has anyone done this before & has it worked?).

But looking at the Disney map, it is hard to tell which would be the best hotel to stay at for the best transportation times (we plan to go to MGM, MK & Epcot only...although probably the Boardwalk & Downtown Disney, also). does anyone have any recommendations (and could you give me some idea as to how long the bus rides actually took, ion addition to how long it took to get to the bus stop at the hotels.

any other suggestions for a family of 4 (8 yar old boy & 10 year old girl) would be appreciated.

We stayed @ CSR in June and loved it. It is absolutely beautiful.I can't say enough about the landscaping. The food was excellent. The rooms are pretty much like a Holiday Inn.
We live an hour form New Orleans so we go to the French Quarter often and POFQ doesn't appeal to us for that reason. Every comment on these boards seems to be positive.

Rokni: We were able to book adjoining rooms. My DD and her friend, both 11, stayed in 1 and DH and I were in the other. We had a discount code but even if you don't, it would still be cheaper (186*2 =372) than getting a suite @ CSR.
How about Fort Wilderness? We've stayed there a number of times. The cabins are roomier than any of the Disney hotel rooms(500+ sq.ft.) There's a master with a double and bunk beds and a fold out bed in the living room. It has a kitchen- great for snacks- even if you don't want to cook.My kids loved the water taxi to the MK. There's a petting zoo and outdoor movies with a sing- along at night that's free- yes free! Some have complained about the transportation but we never had a problem.
Good Luck with your decision.

I can't speak much about CSR since I've never stayed there, but I can tell you that I really loved my stay at POFQ.

As others have said, the size of the resort is a plus, and the beauty of its landscaping is amazing. It has a very secluded, relaxing feel. Bus service is great - it does share with POR, but FQ is always the first picked up (so you always get a seat), and the first dropped off.

POFQ also has the advantage of the boat ride down the river to DD, which many people think of as an attraction in itself - very scenic and pleasant.

We have stayed at all the Moderates once, except POFQ where we have stayed 5 times and going back in 2 weeks! WE are Hooked and addicted with this resort. We have stayed at many disney deluxe resorts and a few times at the S/D (whis we love as a Deluxe) However POFQ has it all for a moderate price resort!
