I'm sure I missed some, but these attractions were all that came to mind. If your old favorite isn't on the list, tell us about it. Personally I wish they would have kept the Skyway and Horizons. I miss most of them on the list. But that's progress!

I really enjoyed the Skyway. This, like the TTA was a nice way to relax and take in the sights. I also liked this for photo opportunities. I have some great photos of the castle when it was done up for the 25th Anniversary from up in the Skyway.
I do miss this:(

I too miss Skyride and Horizons. At least Horizons was replaced and I love Mission Space.

I agree with slo, Skyride was a great way to get some pictures. I loved the birds eye view.

How anyone could prefer the original Tropical Serenade to the new atraction I'll never know. That was the most boring thing in the park. Although, when I was hot and tired, the nap came in quite handy.

It was a tough choice between Horizons and JII, but I chose JII because after riding the updated version of the updated version, I thought this was the worst excuse of imagination used on a ride.

I have to agree with you about Journey. What a waste of space. The old Image Works was better too. At least Micheal Jackson is gone!

Alien Encounter totally slipped my mind, as well as Mission to Mars before it. I also hear that the Diamond Horseshoe Revue has changed to Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree. I never even noticed the change when I was there in Dec. There was also a ride (if you can call it that) in which guests paddled a really big canoe around Tom Sawyer's Island. But I can't remember the name.

I liked the original Tiki Birds much better. DH will not even go in the new one because he can't stand the loud Gilbert Godfrey bird Iago-hehe.

I agree with all of SLO's points. It was also the most unique ride of the choices - not unique compared to a ski lift, but unique to Disneyworld. Fresh air, left to your own devices to digest the sights you were seeing (as opposed to being told what you are seeing in most rides), great photo ops, etc. But I can guess why they did away with it - slow loading, unable to secure guests who might be tempted to swing the car or lean over the side (insurance issues), confused guests who didn't want to end up someplace else without their stollers, probably higher mainenance costs than Winnie the Pooh, yada, yada.

I might have also voted for 20,000 Leagues. I saw it for the first time in 1980 and couldn't believe how cheesy the effects were. After that, I saw the movie and subsequent rides were more enjoyable - I was more focused on the story line and sub ride and the charming nostalgia. Still, it was a unique ride / experience, albeit a slow loader....

I miss the old Main Street, especially the penny arcade. Also, the shooting gallery that used to be down in the game room of the Contemporary. It was set up like a wizard's lab, and things moved when you shot them, like in the Frontierland gallery.

I know these are minor things, but they really made the atmosphere for me.

We really miss the Tapestry of Dreams Parade in the World Showcase right before Illuminations.

I miss closely followed by SuoerStar TV and Mr Toad, heck I miss them all.::yes:: :wave2:

Mr Toad!!!! We loved the idea of going to hell and back...

I also miss Skyway, but understand why it had to go...

And I very much miss the old parade (don't remember its name, it was always just THE parade to us) from Disneyland. I hope they bring it back for the 50 year celebration.

When I was a kid, and the rides all still had tickets--there was this one FREE ride that was sponsered by an airline Eastern maybe or PanAm--anyway---That was one of our absolute favorite rides. I don't remember what it was called , and maybe it was one that you listed.

Please---does anyone know what I am talking about????? You sat in two seaters (kind of like at Haunted Mansion) and it would move along a "runway" (conveyer belt) and the screen you were watching would make it feel like you were taking off--and then flying in an airplane.

Come on Experts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not an expert but, Dreamflight is what your thinking of. It started out as Eastern Airline's, If You Had Wings. And ended as Delta's Dreamflight. I forgot that it was free back then when everything else used tickets. Maybe that's why I remember it fondly. I thought it was neat when I was young, it did make you feel like you were flying, and they seemed to really pump out the cold air when you were over the mountains. I prefer the If You Had Wings version. That theme song stuck to me. "If you had wings, had wings, had wings..."

That's the one I miss most, too. The track started out on the bottom and then picked you up on the top, so you felt like you were flying, and the screen pretty much surrounded you (if I remember correctly) so it was like a cross between Peter Pan and a Circlevision 360 attraction. I didn't know it had ever been called Dreamflight, or I would have checked that in the poll instead of "other"! And I definitely remember that song, too...it played constantly while you were waiting in line. Now can anyone remember which attraction in Tomorrowland was sponsored by Monsanto and had promotions by Barbara Mandrell while you were waiting in line?

Musky:tongue:
